Excellent! Good feeling, isn't it? I remember Rebecca was nervous as a very nervous person in a scary place beforehand, and high as a kite afterwards. Of course we're in the same place again now- off to sunny Sheffield tomorrow for in-person ILR application....
The good way! Long wait on hard backless benches in the waiting area (tip: if you go to Sheffield, take cushions and a good book*) but it was worth it. 2hrs for a decision, then 45 minutes (enough time to find a shop and get a bite for lunch) while they printed and affixed the visa and associated bumf, followed by a tram-ride in search of a proper celebratory lunch.
*Becca says a bad book might be better. The nervous wait severely taxed her powers of concentration- she can't remember a single thing on the pages she managed to read.
I've got some 5 months to decide on whether we'll go the postal or in-person route. I haven't fully decided, especially with wanting to go abroad in November.
We went to Sheffield for the fingerprints for my last bit, so I'm familiar with it. Thankfully that was an in and out. Two hours seems surprisingly quick, actually, I thought yall had to be there all day! Did you have to be there by a certain time in the morning?
welcome to the UK :) Heh, I wish -- this test does nothing along those lines for me. Still many, many hoops to jump through and loads of money yet to pay.
