Room 312: Saturday Late Morning

Katara had barely even realised the island moved (except that the ocean got a lot warmer), let alone that a whole week had passed.  She'd gone to class.  She thought.  Maybe.  But most of the she'd been on the beach waterbending and training.  Zuko's leaving hurt a lot, but it also brought home the reality that she needed to go back to fight a war ( Read more... )

Chad (in Kaylee's body) came back from the common room with Prince Oscar Pedro still faithfully following him; he was going to get coffee, but went with tea, just in case Kaylee's body didn't like too much caffeine. He came in to see Katara making her bed and winced slightly.

"Sorry; I guess we should have done that last night when we were done."

And, yes, he was completely obvious to the fifty different levels of wrongness belying this entire scene.

"Hi Kaylee," Katara said with a small smile. She paused, wondering why Prince Oscar Pedro was with her. "Did you watch Oscar Pedro for Chad?"

Chad shook his head. "I am Chad," he told her. Even with a small smile, which he figured probably didn't help his case that much, but it was oddly easy to smile as Kaylee. It was like her smaller size made for less of a barrier around his feelings and expressions. As himself, everything stayed inside because there was so much of him, but now that there was less, they didn't have to go through as much stuff to show.

...Or...something.

It wasn't exactly a very in-depth theory.
