Katara was Not Thinking about what had happened on Tuesday. Instead she was waterbending. That was all. Just standing knee-deep in the cold water and bending it around her. It was good sometimes to be Not Thinking.

"The radio said 'tonsil hockey'!" Sokka pointed out. Then he paused to think about that for a moment. "Of course, it was Jenny Sparks. She might have been making it up. Sooo... DID you kiss Zuko?"

Sokka facepalmed. "Okay, so I've had a whole day to think about this, 'cause I couldn't find you. So... Let's skip all the yelling, and screaming, and stuff like that, and just sort of take it as a given, okay? 'Cause the most IMPORTANT thing is... Do you think he's really sorry? It's not just an act?"

Of course, if she didn't think he WAS sorry, it would be time for all that yelling and screaming they'd just skipped.

That was unexpected. Katara was really more expecting the yelling, and she took a moment to change gears.

"I think he is. I don't know why he'd try so hard if he weren't."

"...He's trying hard? Okay, I haven't really seen any of that from him. You mean, trying to apologize, and not be evil, and stuff?" He sighed. "...You know what? Put that on hold. There's another something more important: Are you SURE he wasn't involved in the whole kidnapping thing this winter?"

"I am completely certain," Katara said, crossing her arms but actually trying to reassure Sokka. "He was being held captive as much as I was by Azula, and - well, it was stupid to step up to support her, but it was only when Mel and I were kicking her butt. And, well, even if you were crazy, I'd stand up for you."

"Okay, but... There's crazy crazy, and then there's AZULA crazy... " Sokka shrugged. "But... Okay. If you really believe he wasn't-- Okay, then I don't have to go off and beat his face in or anything." He held out his arms for a hug. "But that brings us around to a different question, though."
