I love that about Riker XD And also that the show seemed to at the start genuinely think he would be the pin up of Star Trek. Oh Trek.

So much of TNG is clunky and silly and annoying, but it's got a lot of heart and sometimes it's HILARIOUS and there are a few times that it's just heartwrenching or true, and I love it.

Ooh, so glad you love TNG|DS9! I only ever saw about a third of each, back in the original-broadcast days, but I intend to catch up at some point.

One of the things I loved most about TNG was the way it portrayed - and developed - Klingon sociopolitics. Also, The Inner Light - one of the loveliest pieces of telly ever.
