Urgh, it is utter bull. I mean, women in positions of power do tend to get that kind of petty crap, but that is just pathetic.

~nods~ I don't usually read the comments under online articles (because the sorts of creatures that tend to comment also tend to make my brain explode), but I did read the ones under her piece - and they were very heartening.

Australia is an odd country, almost as schizo as the one it tries so hard to imitate (USA, of course). There's an awful lot of old-fashioned eejit social conservatism and at the same time, loads of forward-thinking liberalism. There's a legal sex industry and at the same time, far more draconian censorship of reading material, films and games (not to mention that @!#!@#%$&^*%%$#$@!!! Conroy and his ever more feral attempts to impose internet censorship despite his constituents and the rest of the public overwhelmingly saying DO NOT WANT). There are strip clubs all over the place and yet Sunday trading wasn't allowed until long after the UK let it happen. Go figure o_O
