I think I'm rather done with Merlin, but omg how much do I need to see the Dorks About Town "documentary"? THEY ARE SILLY, SILLY BOYS AND I HEART THEM.

I think my favorite thing about that post, aside from all the AWESOME, is the inclusion of Smilodon. My geekery, let me show you it. (Hi, I am a total wildcat. OMFG, I HATE THAT SHOW. It is the most misogynistic, insulting, brainless piece of shit. That dude's right: Get me started on it, and you really will never hear the end.)

Psst. Broken italics tag. :D

I thought you might like the nerdiness. Hee. And I weirdly love that you have genuine hate for that show! *is easily amused*

Oh my god, Katie, I almost want to make you watch it so you can see how awful it is but then I'd feel bad for subjecting you to it. My mom loves the damn show, and I'm frothing with rage after about five minutes.

BEING HUMAN! They've apparently wrapped filming on the second series. I AM SO EXCITED. \o/ \o/ \o/

(This comment is way more mood swingy than I'd intended.)

So, which are you? :p

But yeah, that was an awesome way to point out the fail of the whole thing.

Interesting article about writing queer characters. I'm always a little uneasy about reading such things (in fact, anything that seeks to be instructive about writing, but especially if it's concerning writing from the point of view of something about which people can respond with strong emotions), but I figured you recommended it, so :D And I was glad to see a lot of stuff I agree with. Not in a 'I only like to read stuff that doesn't challenge me' way, but because it's good, as a straight writer, to see how my thoughts match up to how LGBT readers feel, and reassuring to see taht my thoughts weren't so very far from the mark. Thanks ( ... )

Yeah, I think it can be difficult to put across a point of view about that sort of thing without sounding all And! You Must Do This Exactly How I Think! about it. I thought that was a good example of talking about how to make your work friendly to queer people without being constrictive.

I agree on the Merlin bit; they've had moments, but I generally feel it's a surprisingly women friendly show, and it's FUN, and yay. I also appreciate Bradley in the read shirt, lol. (And I am impresed at your restraint, omg!)
