Baby's First Spun Yarn

I promised a picture of the yarn I made, and here it is. I am ridiculously pleased with it: it's bumpy and uneven and very clearly a first go, but it is done and I did it! I think I'm calling it Blue China, for reasons which will be obvious when you see the picture.

Oooh, pretty.

That color is gorgeous! And, hey, it's beginner yarn, sure, but it's not as if there aren't bumpy irregular yarns deliberately marketed. Just use it for decorative edging or something. :)

:D Thankyou. And I'm making a patchwork quilt of all my tension squares/practice pieces and such, so that it illustrates my progress at the whole knitting thing, so I think I might turn this first attempt at spinning into a square for that.

Oooh. That is a good idea!

I've tried spinning all of, uh, a couple of times at summer camp, so you're way ahead of me.

AWESOME. The few chances I've had to spin I've loved it, but I haven't done very much at all.

I didn't know you spun at all! :D If you'd like to keep it up, then maybe in the future we could encourage each other.

That is fabulous yarn. I wouldn't have guessed it was someone's first go. You rock! :)

Thankyou! :D

(I originally sort of wanted to call it China White, only then it turned out that 1. the yarn was more blue and 2. the reason that phrase was familiar was because it's the name of a sort of heroin!)
