... in which there's glory and trumpets!

This is currently my FAVOURITE THING IN THE WORLD.

The sheer amount of geeksquee here is ridiculous. I literally shrieked when I first saw it, it is that level of jumping-up-and-down-screeching-with-glee. I love that anybody thought to do this so much. Like... if there's a heirarchy of geek, then fans are the dedicated amateurs who have all the ( Read more... )

I don't know, what do you want?

This is my problem - I have no idea. :) Getting it roughly chin length with lots of layers and feathering is kind of default, and I quite like that, but I vaguely feel like maybe trying something else, so I thought I'd see what other people thought. :)

In that case, I think a bob would be a good idea. Something with a strong and well defined shape, ending at your chin or just below. That way, if you don't like it, you can always have layers put in later.

Also, I think you should go for some highlights and lowlights in shades of caramel, but make the lowlights really striking, perhaps even scarlet or violet.

He IS. And he loves Stephen too! He was on the Daily Show once and they played a clip of Stephen talkling about Aragorn and all his bazillions of names ("...and when he was a kid in Rivendell he was called Estel cause he had to be incognito...") and Viggo was SO IMPRESSED and, like, goes around in interviews going on about how great LOTR geeks like Colbert are. It's cute. :)

I will watch this anon. And squee, i expect.

I actually like you with slightly longer hair. What I think would be nice *puts style guru hat on* would be if you have it about shoulder length, but you make the layers a bit choppier. This would give your hair a bit more va-va-voom, because you have lovely silky smooth hair but maybe it would be cool for a change to have it a bit rockier? I would say ask for the shortest layers to be between your cheekbones and your chin, as having layers that starting slightly above the chin will modernise your look but not be so short as to alarm you. Also, don't get layers that neatly follow one after the other - ask them to mix up the length a little bit, and perhaps razor the ends of the layers as it will give a more textured look to the final style.

Of course, you can entirely ignore this. ;)

Getting any kind of volume in my hair is an endless battle (BOBBLES slide out after ten minutes, let alone a perm or anything more hardcore) so I am liking this idea!

and YAY STEPHEN LOTR-GEEKING HEE.

I voted bob but on hearing this well balanced argument I am changing my vote. Yay for volume! Although be careful to point out you do not want a mullet...
