Yay for rediscovering your hometown. When I saw Manchester it was deserted, but I never imagined it would be a terrible place - quite liked it, actually!

Let me tell you a funny story - on an Australian comedy show about ten years ago they were doing a sketch about the different countries who were vying to hold the 1996 Olympics, which Atlanta won. Melbourne was in the running, as was Manchester. In this sketch, they had representatives of all the cities come out and 'sing' their proposal. And I still remember Manchester's! (sung to the tune of 'Chim-chiminee' from Mary Poppins):

Manchester, Manchester,
There's not much to say
Unemployment is high
and it rains every day
With loads of graffiti
and juvenile crime
we really don't know why we're wasting your time.

Why Alex? And iPod = v v v v cool. Am jealous. Will be useful for the trip to Canada, though - You could put all the Stephen Fry readings of HP onto it for starters (listening to those whilst mobile is fantastic....)

Was the Harry Potter cow there, by any chance? I saw it in Leicester Square, way back nearly two years ago. My brother and I were meeting his friend there, but the friend was an hour late, so we got a good look.
