Yay! Hopefully I'll be home in time to join the chat!

Excited too for Sutcliff's Roman Britain trilogy readalong! I re-read The Eagle of the Ninth last year, but it's been a few years since I revisited the others in the series. The Lantern Bearers broke me a little bit the first time I read it! (In that I couldn't start another book until I'd had a good long post-book grieving session!) (In other words, I loved it.)

Hmm yes, it should be:

The Eagle of the Ninth
The Silver Branch
The Lantern Bearers

and then

Sword at Sunset

...because it comes later in the chronological timeline, and has ties to the trilogy, but is otherwise a standalone (and if I remember correctly, is more Adult than YA in some of its content).

I fixed it! :) I didn't realize there was a fourth book. I haven't had a chance to read the entire series, due to my library not having it. I've only read Eagle, which I bought, and will probably buy the ebook of the others to read them. Do you think we should read Sword at Sunset too or just the trilogy?

Opps... I couldn't remember all the titles and looked up a list online, which was apparently wrong. It's fixed now! :)

Wait, what? I read The Shield Ring a million years ago. Is it tied to the other books in Roman Britain?

Me too. I've had trouble getting my hands on a copy of The Shield Ring.
