We still don't know who Gitta Kingsdaughter is. I'm fine with that. If I remember correctly, MWT said that she wasn't actually coming into the story.
But her tutor is Tykus Namikus. I don't know exactly what language Attolian, Sounisian, and Eddisian are based on. Medieval Greek, maybe? Wikipedia claims that: The word name comes from Old English nama; cognate with Old High German (OHG) namo, Sanskrit नामन् (nāman), Latin nomen, Greek ὄνομα (onoma), and Persian نام (nâm), from the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) *h₁nómn̥.
Is there any way that Tykus Namikus could mean King-Namer? I can certainly see Kamet becoming tutor to a royal princess a few decades down the road. He reads and writes in five languages, and I'm sure he could pick up others pretty quickly if need be.
Does this make any sense to anyone else?
kamet,
thick as thieves
