So, so, so... the discovery of this page (brief but awesome spoiler potential alert!) on MWT's website caused a minor sensation in the fandom, and seems to fit with a certain theory we've discussed here before. (Clue in the comments for those interested.) Again, spoilers for ( Read more... )

*high five*

PIGEON THEORY!

I was wondering whose son Pigeon was (Dite? Sejanus??) when someone reminded me that Erondites had a daughter, disinherited when she married against his wishes.

WHICH MEANS...

Gen wasn't kidding when he said, "I'm going to raze your PATRIMONY and salt its earth."

Did he make Erondites's daughter's son the heir?!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh

Whoa, great catch! I totally forgot about the daughter, and I was scrambling to think which of Dite or Sejanus could have fathered a son old enough to be Pigeon by Book 5.

But isn't this worrying? It says "history is written by the winners" and this last book is apparently written by an Erondite, so... does that imply they won in some way?

Remember, Pigeon is living in the palace under the watchful eye of Eugenides. So perhaps all will still be well for Gen and Irene and their (hopefully) children.

I knew it would be Pigeon’s perspective! I mean, one doesn’t describe a character as “pugnacious” for nothing.

I, too, had forgotten about the sister. Who did she marry then, hmmm... a commoner, a rival, an Eddisian? I vote for Stenides but that is totally out of nowhere.
