Hi, everyone! It's been ages - I've been lurking occasionally, but I haven't written in forever. I hope you are all well!
I enjoyed seeing a few people virtually at Megan's recent "Day of Dialog" appearance. So wonderful! (Although I totally forgot to ask my most pressing question, concerning a book I think must have influenced her, which she has

I was using the new LJ editor to post this, and there doesn't seem to be a way to do a cut? I don't know why there is all that white space - I'll fix the post, as soon as I can figure out how.

This reminds me of the Where's Eugenides tag we were contemplating, before a certain virus canceled everyone's travel plans for the summer. :( Oh well! At least we still have a new book to look forward to in the Fall.

I was thrilled when I saw Aris in the pet shop - did you notice he has the colors of the Queen's Guard? One assumes the King's Guard's colors would be similar (at least this one does! 😉😀!)
I've named all my fighting fish after Queen's ( and King's) guardsmen. I even had one named Legarus the Awesomely Beautiful. Which was also perfect because: 1. Very pretty indeed! 2. Never said a word. (Unlike my very chatty cat, Finn, whose name comes from Irish mythology).
Thanks again! 😀

Is The Baker King from her anthology instead of three wishes ?

I have a question about Instead of three wishes: Was it ever published as an actual printed book or just as an ebook?
Because I tried to buy it once, but the lady of the bookstore told me its just an ebook, and i don't own a kindle or anything like that.

"The Baker King" is one of my favorite stories from Instead of Three Wishes. I like to think of Nele as some sort of great-ancestor of Gen's.
I've signed up and will try to attend. (7pm in CT is get-daughter-to-bed time in TX.)

Your daughter must be quite little, otherwise I'd say bring her along!
Thanks again, though! 😀

And what is the seacoast town? It's beautiful.
Happy to see you back here!

And the town is Galway, Ireland. You can see the edge of my great-grandparent's house, where my Mom was born, on the left.
As to the book - maybe I need a new post? Because there is more than one thing in it that screams "Queen's Thief!," but I don't think Megan has mentioned it anywhere? I've been trying to make sure by checking what she says in my book editions and online. Is there a complete list of books and stories that influenced her anywhere?
Thanks again and have a great day!
