It was fun to see her books being appreciated, and on another bigger site like Tor. While I didn't agree with all their points, I did like that they had a pretty good handle on the plot and characters. I've seen a few reviews that kind-of walked past some major points of the stories and missed things I love about them, so it was nice to see a review that made it sound interesting without majorly spoiling anything or making it sound like they're books glorifying violence or whatever.
One sentiment I really can echo is PLEASE, please, PLEASE do not kill off any of our favorites. Pol was already hard enough. (Part of my fear about reading the last book is having any of my beloved characters die....!!) Anyone else??
Oh, I'm totally with you! I hate the "random death" (Crooked Kingdom) and the "self-sacrifice death" (every Star Wars movie) and...well, I guess I just don't like it when characters I love die. I do get a sense of something weird in store for Gen, though, maybe becoming immortal like a god??? Who knows what tricksy Megan might have up her sleeve.
Did you LOVE Six of Crows? It's become one of my favorites; I've read it several times now. Crooked Kingdom is wonderful, too. I'm sorry for slipping in a mild spoiler. :-(
I really kind of hated Mockingjay because of all the kids dying. Ugh.

I do hope RoT is nothing like Mockingjay on the death count. I honestly can't think of one character I'd be okay with dying, other than Nahuseresh...
