Sign-ups for "The Thief" Masked Role-playing Chat
Thief Month is here! I'm so excited.
"The Thief" 20th anniversary masked role-playing chat is scheduled for Saturday October 1st at 7pm Central Time. Check the World Clock for what time that is for you.
What is a masked chat?
It's the same as other role-playing chats, except sign-ups are anonymous! You will sign into the Conspiracy Room (on the sidebar) using just your character's name, and no one will know who's playing who.
How is it "The Thief" themed?
We are using just "The Thief" characters for this chat in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "The Thief." Since characters like Helen and Irene have a cameo, they are included, however characters like Costis and Relius are not.
Can I sign-up even if I'm not a member?
Yes, you can! Normally, the Conspiracy Room is a members only chat room, but I will post a public password for the Conspiracy Room that will be valid for just that day.
EDIT: Dispite many valient efforts, Chatzy does not seem to have the ability to change the password without deleting all previous content. Since I don't want to do that, I've decided to post a link to an alternate reality Conspiracy Room that will be password free the day of the chat. This should make things much more simple for everyone.
If you want to read the chat transcript after that day, it will be posted to Sounis and be available to non-members. Since sign-ups are anonymous, you don't even need an Lj account.
Do I have to sign-up to participate?
No. If you're not sure you're going to be available the day of the chat, you can check the list to see which characters are still available during the chat and sign in as a free character. I will try to keep the list as accurate as possible during the chat, but due to loading times and the fact I will be playing a character myself, there is always a chance you'll sign in as a character someone is already playing. Personally, it doesn't bother me if two people are playing the same character, however if the person already playing your character asks you to switch, please do.
Though sign-ups aren't required, if you want to play one particular character, signing up before they're taken is the only guarentee you'll be able to play them.
