i thought i would point you in the direction of an author who you guys might like, who has a few new books out (a duology, in fact), and -- most importantly -- who megan reads, admires, and has blurbed. (hi, megan.)
the author is elizabeth wein. she has an lj here: eegatland.
her most recent books are the lion hunter and the empty kingdom, which together form the duology called the mark of solomon. i like to think of her as a cross between mwt and rosemary sutcliff.
