I knew 2007 was going to be something.

I enthusiastically told my friend Carrie back in December (was that so long ago?) that I would love to teach kids French in Brookfield. Now I'm trying to remember exactly why I had said that. The teacher/organizer is a-knocking on my e-mail door and I haven't decided what I want to do. It's not like it ( Read more... )

I'm not a big fan of journalism either, and staying away from it makes writing as living hard.

I wish I knew what to tell you to do... I wish somebody else would just tell me what to do as well. Poop.

yeah it does; unless you somehow manage to get a hand in on one of the few literary mags that are hiring, you're pretty much screwed. i mean that's what i want to do, i want to edit or do something in real-life-book publishing. not obits. bahhh

this whole growing up thing? sucks ass! i demand a recount, i'm not old enough to be an adult yet :P

Now I feel like a failure and I haven't even tried.
I totally know how you feel... I've barely looked for anything but just have this overwhelming feeling that there's nothing there for me... or I don't know. Difficult to explain, but I know what you mean :(

And I also agree about the journalism thing... I think the reason I've pretty much given up writing is I feel I can't go anywhere doing creative writing and journalism just isn't that fun for me (which is why I ended up with only a minor in it instead of a major).

Grrr... hope you find something good, and bonne chance!

i think what i loved the most about college was how entirely wrong they were about writing as a major and profession. people don't want CWs, they may not disclude you but they expect you to have the experience and formalities of other more apt professions like journalism, pr, advertising etc. so if i go to a newspaper or to a pr firm, they're going to expect that i know what i'm doing in both fields...not just be a good writer. bahhh ( ... )
