Some action in this chapter indeed. I always like it when Cara holds back (not forever, of course), for various reasons (which I'm sure is clear from my own tales of the duo, LOL). But her holding back because of her sense of duty/loyalty to Richard always makes the most sense. You conveyed that well here.

A bit of Kahlan's inner turmoil shines through, but, like Cara, I'm wondering just how much she is feeling guilty or not so guilty about kissing/wanting to be with Cara.

The fight scene was well-placed and allowed for a nice, agonizing cliffhanger. They do fight marvelously together, and it's realistic that they aren't always going to be perfect in such execution.

I'm glad you think I was able to show Cara's reasons for holding back. Sometimes I worry about that kind of thing.

I think it's good to not show too much, and let the reader try to decide.

The cliffhanger just begged to be done, so I had to... that, and I have a little mean streak too. lol

It is still heartbreaking seeing first of all Cara struggling with her feelings. The fight was thrilling.

I think we all like Cara so much because we can relate in some ways.

I appreciate your comments and I'm glad you liked the fight. I hope you will contiue to like the story.
