I entirly mailed f66 this morning to see if there were tickets for the Kyoto live left, they've already mailed me back to ask random questions about where I'm staying and where I'd like to sit

In Kansai they use ICOUCA rather than Suica or Pasmo, and Suica/Pasmo only work at a few JR stations in my experience. Also, the trains are a bit... tricky. I nearly missed the last train to Namba from Kyoto at one point, and it was at 10.30PM or so!
I'd set yourself up a backup option like a manga cafe just in case you can't make the train back... But whatever happens I'm sure you'll have an awesome time :3
Ah thanks for the heads up!! Yeh I'm totaly over planning everything and researching the entire thing before hand due to paranoia about missing the train, thus my accuracy of there being a 11pm train back to Tokyo!! Honestly I don't think the concert will run to that point anyways but I can fine tune things like that as/when I get confirmation from the F66 folks!!
Like what Katy said I don't think Suica/Pasmo really work that far down away from Tokyo.
I'd set up a reservation at a Super Hotel that night just incase and if you do make the train you can just cancel it. Are you getting a rental phone?
Have addresses and possibly a map of the venue and train station so you then have the option of eaily convaing to a taxi driver where you need to go since a 45min walk seem abit far if you need to hurry. If you get back to Tokyo Station but the JR line isn't working remember that you can always taxi it. Seriously taxis have saved me so much on my trip.
Yeh it was kind of a long shot!! I already know what sort of fair I want and will have the Kanji for the station I'm after as well as the translation so I should be ok (ish)
Hmm I realy, realy, want to avoid booking another hotel if I can help it, especially given what I'm paying out for the one in Tokyo but I'll look into costs just incase!!
Ah the 45 min walk is from Tokyo station back to my hotel so there's no rush on that one...though I am now worried about the train from the station right next to the concert hall-Kyoto main station being offline....hurrah more stuff to research!!
You don't have to pay any money to Super Hotels until you actually check in though. Like when Rachel and I ever stayed in a Super Hotel we went to the desk, gave them our passports, gave them the money, and then checked into the hotel.
I've actually got a hotel reserved now due to the train home being more than one train!! (more of which in todays entry!!)
Thanks so much for being worried about me and to sate the curiosity that particular night is 21,200 yen as it's about peek for the commuters...eeeh I doubt I'll actually miss the money what with me likely being dead the entire saturday and it being a great deal more expensive to get a train back at that time of night!!!
