This was fun as well. The dream reads like a dream, except that Arathalian acts fairly lucid...but I don't know how human and fae dreams differ.
Poor, poor Caren Brellview... *can't help snickering*
It's so funny how they're so befuddled through that whole closing bit. Especially the 'hug' line. *chortles*
Thanks for posting! I need lovely stuff like this to distract from the fact I can't eat until the appointment today (and am now too hungry to write anymore, grr).
Doctors, bleh :/ hope you treated yourself to lunch or something afterwards.
This could just be me, but whenever I'm in one of my dreams I'm usually doing and saying things fairly lucidly - all kinds of weird things happen around me, but I react to them like they're normal.
Like my famous yoghurt telephone dream, where I worked in a production line manufacturing mobile phones, but they were all in the shape of six-pack yoghurt tubs and I had to put my ear up to the lids to check whether they worked. And the production line looked like my kitchen bench.
Aren't you glad I share these worldly little insights?
Thanks a lot for stopping by and reading in adversity, me sweet ;D
My very first reaction to finishing this, not surprisingly, went along the following lines:
THALIAN! In a relatively good mood! *GLOMP*
My second was a continuation of the first and consisted of wondering how long it'll take before he minds the glomping...
I think I do love Thalian in a good mood. Except for the ending. That was just utterly, utterly sad. :( It truly goes to show how effective a lack of prose-y descriptions can be.
*desperately needs a glomping icon; goes for the next best thing*
I should point out that I do feel with/for poor Caren. He's such a cautious sweetie. I am just unfairly biased towards Thalian. He truly is a marvellous 'villain'. I love how easy it is to see things his way as well as the ironblood's views as well. It's clearer in other pieces, but all the same.
Sad, sad ending... *sniffs* Sorry, I'm jumping around now, so I'd best shut up...
*snerk* I'm glad you said 'relatively' XD His idea of a good mood is still pretty spiteful, the bastard!
I actually decided in September that he was going to need quite a few more lighter (or at least less malevolent) moods mixed in - if he were angry and obstreperous all the time, he'd a) be useless for Queries and b) probably not coping too well after 400 years. XD
I don't really want to write Hold shorts all the time, though. I really need to pick up that journal again to work out little stuffs.
Thankee again for reading, hon! And I'm sorry I turned out a sadder one there for you ... at least the first one was cheerful, right? Right? ;D
*points to other snippet* That's a non-Hold short idea. ^-^
*cuddles Thalian some more* And 'tis all right. I don't think 'cheerful' is a very useful thing to ask with Hold-snippets in general. Fiannas might be an exception to that, poor lamb. I'll live. ;)
She died in the sack of a city called Iscanon :( But I didn't want to do it! I want a grown-up Inya to play with! (This is the problem with writing the bloody story backwards XD)
And I'm glad it didn't come across all gloom - it was supposed to be more melancholy than miserable. Thanks again for reading, me sweet!

Poor Caren Brellview, he's a wonderful foil for Arathalian, poor lamb.
Sad ending though :(
Liked the dream ^_^

I still love pre-Hold Thalian more. And pre-Hold Cochalyon. This one isn't cuddly enough for me.
Ta, poppet ^_-

Can't imagine why, I'm sure.
I'm fond of suffering Caren now. Not sure how it happened, but he's made it into the Iron Hold along with that old bat Orinnia ... deary me.
Thankee for reading, precious ^_^
