Lately, some US-based distribution companies are quickly acquiring titles even before they are finished in Japan, and some fansub groups decide to go headfirst and continue even after the licensing announcement.

Why? I guess that they're basing their licensing decisions by actually watching the download figures for every title on known BT trackers ( Read more... )

I'm glad at least a group is continuing. It'd be torture to stop here(especially since my season 3 from Rightstuf got pushed back from a Feb to March release date as is).

That scene definitely elicited some tears from me.:(

Also, licensing only applies to the US territory, and not among other countries. Thus, even if a certain series is licensed in the US, that license does not apply to, say, the Philippines; the anime/manga/whatever-Japanese-media fans in the Philippines can download that series, even if international fans, those outside the Philippines, cease to do so. 8)
