An excerpt from "My Life" by Ennis Del Mar as told to Soulan and annotated by Jack Twist.
The sun was hot and the air crisp as I sailed away from the cliff edge, Jack close behind. I wasn't falling but flying, and the freezing water wasn't a shock but a bracing smack. Jack yelped like a pup when he surfaced and I couldn't stop smiling.1 We fooled around like kids2 and then raced each other for the shore, where we wallowed in the sun-warmed shallows for a good long while.3 Then we picked our way back around the shoreline to the path leading up to the cliff where we'd left the truck, with the clothes we'd shucked before takeoff4 scattered in the grass.

1 Huh didnt tell you he yelled "Can feel my balls climbin right up inside my guts!" so I swam over to make sure he wasn't exaggeratin. He was.
2 Oh right like kids, sure. Cept its true I did show him this thing we use to do at a swimmin hole where we played at bein submarines (with perrascopes).
3 Yeah nice and warm. Muddy too. Ennis climbed on top of me as I lazed on my back in the ooze and his tongue I swear felt like some alive thing as he kissed me while he slathered mud on my thighs with one hand, fine silty mud that didn't scrape one bit and I started to say god Ennis don't stop there but he was only gettin started. Oh fuck that felt so good. I rubbed mud in circles all over his ass and then we were both moaning. When we came it made clouds in the brown water like milk swirls in coffee. I tried to memerize all those little things cause I was sure it was gone a be a perfect day and a course I had plans.
4 What is it with you and all this flyin stuff cause I know Ennis didnt ever Oh.
