Boys Should Watch Football
Think if I went out for football I'd wanna play center.
Bobby, if you don't eat your dinner I'm gonna have to turn off that television.
Why, Mama? I'm gonna be eatin' this food for the next two weeks.
Turkey soup, turkey sandwiches, turkey hash... Why don't we ever have fish, anyway?
You heard your mama. You can eat your dinner. Then you can watch the game.
I'm not interested in the game. There's only a minute left. I'm waiting for the locker room interviews.

I ain't done this before, whatever he might think. I started it, but he just took over. Sure seems ta take to it naturally. One quick shot was all he needed. When his gun went off, swear I could taste it, was so hungry. Now the next step is up to me. This won't be easy, with him expectin me to lead the way. I only ever watched other guys do it before, never got a chance to try it myself till now.
Jack, what in hell are ya waitin for? Thought ya said you knew how ta butcher game!

To Have and Have Not
100 words
Four weeks had never passed so slowly. Yet for the first time ever he dreaded their meeting, wondering how he'd greet him. But first contact was normal, though his smile was not so bright. By the fire, Jack held out a Kennedy half-dollar, flat on his palm, the one he always carried with him. Because of the year, he'd explained once. Then he closed both fists, waved and churned them. Pick, he said, but that hand was empty and so was the other. Bobby was learning magic and showed him. He'd practiced for a month. The coin never reappeared.
