She picked up the pace. While the school was quite a ways from the apartments, Sakura didn't want to keep the older girl waiting. She herself could still remember quite well what it was like to find herself in a completely different world with no one familiar at all, and how glad she'd been when kind people had gone out of their way to reassure her.

As she dashed down the streets of the shopping district, she traded smiles and returned greetings with some of the shop keepers she'd gotten to know, though she was still careful not to run into anyone.

Finally though, Shibusen came into view. She took a moment to gaze up at the building, since it really was an impressive piece of architechture before heading inside, her pace slower now.

As she got closer to the Kishin Chambers, she noticed an older girl with long blonde hair standing in the corridor and brightened. She recognized her from the videos.

"Winry-san!"

When she heard her voice, Winry looked up and couldn't help but feel just a tiny bit uncomfortable. Sakura had definitely looked really young over the communicator, but seeing her in person cemented even more that idea. That a person should be dragged into a war zone was bad enough as it was, that someone so young was even worse.

She was never particularly good at hiding her feelings, partially because she rarely thought that was a good idea, so the concern was pretty evident on her face.

"Sakura, hey!" she pushed off the wall she had been leaning on and jogged over to her, "thanks again for offering to show me around."

"It's no problem at all!" she chirped, beaming up at the blonde girl. "But you know, the people around here are really nice, so even if you get lost, they'll definitely help and give you directions."

She fell in step with Winry as they walked down the corridor, pointing out some of the rooms she recognized as they passed by them.

"You don't have to worry about paying the rent at Casualty Communal," she explained. "That's what the apartment complex is called. A lot of the shops at the shopping center give you the stuff for free, too. You just have to show them your ID. The school takes care of everything."

That was the impression she was getting--that they were all very nice, but sadly Winry had to face the truth. She wasn't exactly the best judge of character. When she had first met Kimbley she thought he was a very kind man--a gentleman. She had thought the same thing of the Fuhrer when she had spoken to him but in the end she had been manipulated by both and put in a situation that had nearly brought both Elrics trouble.

Sakura seemed sweet and smart, but she was also young so Winry couldn't help but assume naive.

"I haven't signed the contract," she admitted. That was her main concern, if these things really applied, "are we allowed to stay in the communal if we haven't?" Finding a job and getting food and clothes would be manageable, finding a home would be a bit more difficult.
