Her family and friends had to go out. Nanako understood this quite well, really. After all, it sounded like something important that they had to do. Her big brother, her dad, all of her friends, and even Mr. Mustang looked like they were about to face something difficult, and it worried her. Nanako had heard some of the things that were being said, and although she didn't understand everything, she knew that this was at least dangerous.

As she sat against a wall in the hallway, a small sigh escaped from her lips. She hoped everyone would come back okay.

Oh.

Nanako tilted her head curiously at the person who was crouched before her. She didn't recall meeting this person before. His face was kind enough, but she was always taught to be careful. He didn't seem dangerous enough, though. Maybe he was lost?

She nodded her head politely, and greeted him although without a smile, "Hello..."

Matilda had gone to do a little wandering around amongst the other guests. Well. She supposed guest wasn't really the right word here, at least not for her. Dangerous as this place was, and as worried and scared as she was for the others and herself, this place still felt more like a home than her house back in her world ever had.

It was hard to keep herself in such high spirits, try as she might. She was scared of what might happen to the others and what might happen to herself and all the people gathered here should they fail.

Hades chose exactly that moment to slam the door of his suite room open. How could have he forgotten his cigars? You couldn't watch a nice, bloody sport without cigars. And as he stalked in search for his precious, he nearly ran over Matilda. The god flailed somewhat, barely avoiding to get tangled up - he refused to shorten his toga, thank you - or Fates forbid, fall flat on his face.

"You!" He pointed a pointy, blue-pink finger at the girl, glowering. "Why aren't you taller?"

When Hades nearly tripped over her Matilda instantly ducked to the ground, throwing her hands up over her head. After feeling no pain she opened one eye and blinked up owlishly at Hades. The whole situation might have been comimical if not for the fact that he was.

Well. Terrifying looking.

"U-um. Because I'm only six?" The answer sounded more like a question. She was not taller because she simply wasn't. Somehow she didn't think getting snippy would be a good idea.

Hades harrumphed impatiently, running a hand down his toga to make it fall the right way again.

"That's no excuse to be a midget!" He waved his hands emphatically. "Eat some broccoli or sacrifice a goat! No, wait, the goat is to get a husband. A cow! Cows are for growing. Honestly, children these days don't know how to do things properly anymore!"

There was a blob of something pacing back and forth by the wall, its hands behind its back and deep in thought... On second look, it was only Cogsworth.

This whole ordeal he was struggling with; magic, transportation, time travelling even! Preposterous, all of it. "Blasted problem! Ten years of being a clock, one break it seemed! And then no, this had to happen, didn't it? Had to! No one ever gives Cogsworth a break, never." He was meant to be talking to himself quietly, but his musing seemed to be a little loud.

After she had managed to more or less part ways with Hades, Matilda was heading back to Nanako when she came across a puffy ball. Oh wait no, that was a person. A rather distressed looking one at that.

She had half a mind to just leave him be but...well that wouldn't have been very kind, would it?

She looked around before shyly approaching him. "Excuse me, Mr?"

Ahiru wrung her hands nervously in front of her as she paced aimlessly around the communal lobby. It was hard to stay shut up in her room when she could hear what was going on outside, and it finally got to the point that she was too restless to remain in there without going stir-crazy.

So the redhead had made her way down to the lobby where she had met with Dawn previously, if just to move around a little and hopefully clear her mind. She hadn't gotten too far with learning to use the PDA properly yet, due to the distraction of the battle that she knew was taking place.

However, so far, the extra space to walk around in just seemed to make her even more antsy, although she definitely wasn't about to do anything really reckless like blindly heading outside. She already told Fakir that she would stay out of it, after all, and she didn't want to cause any trouble for him.

Sighing, she pulled out her PDA and started to monkey around with it a little more, testing the things she had learned about its use so far.

Fakir had been keeping to himself as much as he could, since his arrival. Well, actually, he had been keeping to himself as much as he could for most of his adolescence. But the fact remained that, after he'd finished talking to Ahiru about how she was not to get involved in this battle and reading some of the information he'd been given with her, Fakir had retreated to his room and hadn't stirred.

He'd meant to stay there, having no desire to interact with anyone in this place, but the sound of the battle had worn him down. Fight it though he might, Fakir was anxious.

He'd been told the people here hadn't been able to stop this killer because they weren't good enough at fighting in the way this place apparently required, and he was supposed to rely on them to take the killer down in this battle? He didn't like it ( ... )

"QUA--"

The sudden crash of footsteps into her vicinity took the redhead by surprise, her hands just barely finding their way over her mouth before that magic word could fully escape.

Miraculously, Ahiru managed to catch herself before she actually fell down this time, though she stumbled forward a few feet in attempt to regain her footing. And luckily, the device hadn't managed to slip from her fingers, either.

Sighing in relief, she turned around to see who had made such a loud entrance (though she guessed it must have been someone involved with the battle, probably on their way out into the fray), and was surprised to find a familiar face. Or a familiar face creased with anxiousness, anyway.

She blinked, confused. And then her heart almost leapt into her throat. Did he find something out the battle? Did something go wrong? He definitely looked agitated by something. And she didn't want to think that he'd heard any bad news ( ... )

And there she was. Was she just going out now, and he'd managed to catch her?

Stopping, he scarcely took the time to catch his breath before scowling and barking, "What are you doing?!"
