Running out of ways to kill time without venturing into the fog, Reimu had taken a trip to the top floor of the apartments, just to see if there was anything interesting or fishy up there. It had turned out, though, that what was up there was mostly more apartments, most of which were empty. After peeking into a few empty rooms to see if there were any odd characters hiding in them, she had given up on the project, and was now heading back to her own room to make some tea, feeling a little disappointed.

She drifted down the stairs, floating about six inches off the floor, not paying a great deal of attention to who or what was coming up them...

Rhode was looking out, however, and she stepped aside when she saw the strange girl come floating her direction. It took her a moment to realize the girl was actually flying, however, and she turned quickly to see how she was managing to do it.

She opened her mouth, almost asking, but she bit back the question quickly. That was just desperate, and that was the last impression she wanted to give anyone in this place.

Reimu didn't pay Rhode much mind, but after they passed, she could feel Rhode's eyes on her back. She stopped and turned, looking back at her, wondering whether she was going to start a conversation, keep staring, run away, or attack her on sight. Considering how her life tends to go, none of them would have surprised her much.

She didn't say a word; just looked the girl up and down with a blatantly judgmental gaze. She almost turned and walked away- Almost.

"How did you figure out you can do that?" Rhode finally asked, trying quite hard to sound as if she didn't care about the answer at all. The curiosity had been bothering her, however, since Kuroro had started bothering her to keep trying to find her ability.

In his preoccupation over the Skylark, and his interactions with the other strange ones from different worlds, he had not noticed her absence immediately. He had thought, at first, that it was little else beyond a momentary lapse of judgment - a 'phase', as some may put it. He had never expected Chrome, after all, to be completely beholden to him. The visits, however, stopped altogether, and so did her posts to the network.

He had not been interested in BREW, nor the affairs of Shibusen, prior to his vessel's disappearance. Now, however, he couldn't help but wonder --

-- which he chose to do at one of the stairwells. There was little else to occupy himself with, given recent events, and, curious as he was, he was not an idiot. Until things settled down (or until loafing about finally annoyed him enough), he had no intentions of going out and seeing what was there.

Rhode hadn't been expecting to find any terribly familiar faces in her adventures; despite her chatty activity on the network, she didn't regularly see anyone besides Lulu and Kuroro. Seeing the familiar black hair, however, gave her a pleasant little start of surprise. Pausing at the landing below, she tucked her hands behind her back.

After a moment's consideration, she started up the steps, stopping a step beneath his feet and crouching down. Hands resting on her knees, she looked up at Mukuro, head tilted ever so slightly to the side. "No fogchasing? It's perfect weather for it."

Mukuro blinked at the girl's intrusion, and offered her a thin smile. It was not an entirely inviting gesture, but it didn't have any hostility or irritation behind it. She was free to move along or join him, as far as he was concerned.

"The others seem occupied enough with that as it is." he tilted his head at her as well, observing the observer. "And you, my dear? Why are you inside?"

Rhode didn't smile, not quite yet; she just watched him, propping her elbow onto her knee and her chin onto her hand.

"There's nothing worth doing out there. Not that there's anything worth doing in here." She sighed ever so softly. "Nothing in this world is worth doing, really. Such a bore."

Shifting her weight forward, she rested her knees just between his feet, brushing a piece of hair that had fallen out of her face. "Why are you sitting out here on the steps? From what you've said on the network, I imagined you had a lot of friends from home to be with."
