Characters: Roy Mustang and Lady Location: The site for Mission #140a Rating: G Time: January 14, most of the day Description: It doesn't always work out the way you want it to.
Lady wasn't doing much better with the situation, either. Each time the creature had gotten away from them, she'd grown more and more irritated, cursing into her partner's mind with increased annoyance. As the day had progressed, and they'd grown more and more tired, these loud tantrums had slowly turned into quiet and then finally silent fuming.
Lady heard him turn around beside her, and she glanced out one last time as well to check for anything they'd missed. Their target was long gone, though, and it would be incredibly dark by the time they tracked it down again, if they did at all with the setting sun. Lady scuffed her boot into the dirt before she turned to follow, running the back of her palm against her forehead at the moisture there.
"This blows." The words were irritated but quiet; she didn't really have the energy at this point for anything above normal speaking tone.
Roy immediately plopped down on the ground with a sigh. He undid the first few buttons of his collar, leaned back and focused on catching his breath before padding himself down for his cigarettes.
"We are going to come back here and take it out for good next time."
It wasn't a question; it was a statement of fact. He knew Lady would agree with him.
She said it as if it were the only conceivable option. Because, frankly, that's exactly what it was. There was no way they weren't going to destroy that things ugly face...as soon as they weren't completely exhausted.
Lady could hear him patting for his cigarettes; yeah, it was about that time wasn't it.
Less than a minute later and she was sitting down too, a stick burning a slow trail of smoke as it sat between her lips.

"Too bad we didn't bring beer with us."
