He had been doing fairly well since his release from the clinic some two or three weeks ago. Itou had appeared in Death City in the middle of dying in his world, and had unfortunately been about to continue his natural path here as a corpse when Shibusen's doctors had dragged him from the edge. Recovery would have normally been a longer process, given the some dozen bullet holes he'd acquired on his body, the great slash he had received at sword's edge, and having his arm brutally torn out of his shoulder. Fortunately, this world's powers had been able to speed it up a bit so that now, barely a month after the incident, Itou was walking almost like normal and could even practice the sword a while every morning.
Itou had promised to come in for checks every now and then, however, and today was on his schedule. He had hoped that the clinic would be empty this time of day, but it seemed that he was unlucky as usual. Still, it was warmer in the clinic today, so he sat down in a chair and waited to be noticed by a non-busy staff member.
His shoulder had been acting up again, and it had given Yuri little choice but to seek out medical supplies. The judge had already scouted out the local pharmacy and supermarket for supplies that he could use, but they didn't have everything that he needed. That was why he had decided to obtain what he did by locating it in the clinic

Itou had some odd hobbies, especially when he's been made to wait. Observing people was practically a habit, and he idly practiced it now as various people passed by his location in the clinic. Some of them were familiar, and some of the strangers were obviously helpers. No one he particularly needed or wanted, so he stayed put

There didn't appear to be any doctors in sight, which was disappointing to say the least. It meant that he had to waste more time here than he wanted, but it was a necessity given the nature of his injuries. His gaze slid from curtain to curtain in an attempt to find one who was available, but the few he sighted appeared to be indisposed.
How unfortunate.
The voice of another drew the judge's attention away from his search. His initial assessment of the man lead him to believe that he was no doctor, and if that was true, then he could not provide him what he needed.
"I am looking for a doctor or somebody in charge," Yuri said with a smooth voice. Stopping to glance at the other, he regarded the man critically as he asked, "Would you know where I may find them?"

Though Anders was far from 'settled in' to Death City, and he certainly wasn't the least bit comfortable with his situation, he was reasonable enough to know that wandering aimlessly wouldn't do much good for anyone. Dropping back into the clinic, however, would likely do quite a lot of good for many people. Even without Justice hounding him on, Anders instinctively gravitated towards the place where he could do the most good, and even lacking his magic there was plenty of good to be done in any medical facility.
Anders still wasn't entirely sure where all the injuries were coming from, aside from the nebulous 'war', but that didn't change the fact that there were always bones to be set and gashes to be stitched and burns to be salved. It was slow and tedious compared to Spirit Healing, but every bit helped, and that was enough of a result to keep going.

This man hadn't been working at the clinic for long, had he? Naomi was sure he hadn't, at least--she hadn't seen him around until recently. Granted, much of her shift was during the times where many people were sleeping instead of coming in for any reason, but even so she knew the faces most of the people who worked around the clinic sooner or later and he didn't seem familiar yet.
There had been a lull in activity for a little while now, so Naomi took the opportunity to check on him and introduce herself.
"You're new around here, aren't you? What's your name?"
Though Anders certainly needed sleep just as much as the next person, one of the few handy side-effects of being a Grey Warden was the ability to keep functioning even when tired. Combined with his tendency to focus on one thing to the detriment of all others, it was hardly surprising that Anders put in odd hours at the clinic.
Anders had been taking opportunity of the quiet to restock some supplies, and had his hands full of bandage rolls when Naomi spoke to him. He paused momentarily, but resumed his work quickly enough. "Yes, I am," he replied, habitually wary but not unfriendly. His more recent reclusive habits aside, Anders was a people-person. "You can call me Anders, but only if I get to return the favor."
Hm. He was the familiar type, then. "Fine, then. My name is Naomi Kimishima. I'm a former surgeon, and one of the clinic's heads here. I'm usually on duty from evening to morning, to handle those in the Watch who work the later hours."
She'd been watching him work as she spoke, so after a second she added a question. "If you don't mind my asking, what experience have you had in the field of medicine or healing? There tends to be a large range of experience among those who work here, given the natural differences between the worlds we've come from."
