Characters: maashiro and givingsword Location: around Death City, wherever Kaoru drags Kenshin Rating: PG Time: January 11 Description: "Kenshin, get outside and do things."
Kaoru had taken a shower herself, fresh from training and after drying her hair and getting ready, she awaited Kenshin's signal for them to go. She was a little surprised he had been so open to it--or maybe it was simply her fears that maybe he had heard what happened that night--either way, she didn't want to think on it. Pouring your heart out without a response--it was better not to hear it if he hadn't mentioned it yet...right?
Maybe he'd just forget about it!
..Do I..really want him to? Those things I said..It's hard to imagine me finding the courage to say them again... She swallowed as she looked at the doorknob, before, with a firm look passing over her face, she opened her door, stepped outside, and walked over to his room. They were next door, it wasn't a long trip..yet it felt like it, as she knocked.
Kenshin double-checked the placement of his sword before opening the door to greet her. "I'm not so sure for what I should be ready, but I am, de gozaru," he said, voice and expression light as he joined her in the hallway.
Despite the weather Kenshin hadn't ditched his traditional assortment of clothes; though Kaoru would notice he had at least added a scarf that should look very familiar to her.
"And that's exactly why you need to get out of this room." Kaoru huffed, hands on her hips, all seriousness. Kaoru hadn't exactly abandoned her style either, so she was dressed in one of the kimonos she could find, hair pulled back in not the same, but still a ribbon in a familiar shade of blue
( ... )
"'Coffee,' you said, is it? Like the drink Tae-dono served us once?"
Kenshin overlooked her reaction to the scarf around his neck, though it was one he noted, and noted well. She was always easy to read, but sometimes Kenshin thought it was becoming even easier now without his ability to read kenki. Relying on that made the emotions clearer, but now that he was forced to read things on his own observations, he could see little things that explained those emotions: the catch of her breath that explained the surprise, the light in her eyes and the tiny twitch of her mouth, the flush and the stammer that explained all of it.
Tell her of your happiness.
Kenshin trailed behind Kaoru, moving just quickly enough not to lose her.
