Besides. You made friends with cool people by talking to everyone.
"So, what do you think of the new types of missions? Pretty interesting, huh?" Vash asked, grinning broadly and settling next to L before the postings. "Looks like they'll be a pretty nice challenge for people who are more or less partnered up."

"I... think they're interesting, from what I've seen," he said cautiously, unnerved by the wide grin. "As for a challenge... I wouldn't know. I've never been 'partnered up', so to speak, and the one time I attempted to resonate ended pretty disastrously."

"I'm one to one, myself. A bad resonation sure showed me to be grateful for a good one." Vash relaxed, either unaware of or not the least bit bothered by L's unease. He studied the board a little longer. "The tracking mission looks like it could be intresting. Montana's kinda north of here, isn't it? Bet that's gonna be cold!"

The new missions board was something of a taunting reminder that she needed a partner. And yet she couldn't seem to stay away, even if she didn't have an Iggy anymore to keep her on track or to tell her which might benefit her the most - hell, here she only had her gun and past experience without a weapon around. In a way it was like a kick in the ass to get a move on with this whole partnership thing, but well. The sheer matter of her sort of natural anti-social persona kind of put a wrench in the gears.
But that red coat looks familiar as she approaches, giving a little nod of hello.
"Anything interesting with these new postings?"

Vash seemed unduly excited for a man who at this moment, couldn't take any of these assignments. But it was new, it was shiny, and vash was a highly distractable, easily entertained sort of person.

"But they all involve having a partner, right?" Really, a strangely prideful part of her thought she didn't need a partner in order to do law enforcement type missions - considering her prior experience in her home world. But then again - seeing that Witches and Kishin could have taken 004's arm straight off - hm. A little pause and caution couldn't really be all that wounding.

"This whole relying on a partner thing sure is a pain, isn't it?" Vash asked, but his tone was a little strange for what should have been a normal, good natured gripe. There was something lonely about it, but Vash flashed a quick grin after. "I should tell Neku to start running personal ads in the morning paper! Single, good looking young Meister seeks attractive female weapon not afraid to pack some serious firepower!"

This novelty of frozen water still hadn't wore off for Vash, apparently.

"Helping defend the supply chain sounds really neat too! And best of all, no kishin!"
