Characters: Soul and Maka Location: Somewhere just at the outskirts of Death City Rating: G Time: SUPER BACKDATED TO THE 24th, Christmas Eve Description: So, about that gift-giving thing...
That was exactly the problem; it seemed like every time they let their guard down for some sort of celebration or holiday, someone decided to attack the city to ruin everything, and it was always worse than it needed to be because no one was prepared.
At the very, very least, she was going to do her own patrol of the city outskirts, if only to let other people relax. Besides, Soul was with her, and he was the main person she wanted to spend Christmas Eve with anyway. Everyone else could wait until tomorrow, like her friends.
Oh yeah, and Papa. She'd promised, hadn't she? Oof.
"I just want to finish this last sweep. If I can't sense anyone, then I'll be satisfied, okay?"
Maka cringed slightly before she exhaled a sigh, followed by a slow nod. Soul was right; they had been out here awhile, and she was kind of procrastinating. She just wanted to make sure the job was done right, and she was concerned that the witches would attack during the holiday.
"Yeah, you're right. No one's out here and it's cold." She turned her head toward him, allowing herself to smile. "Let's get going."
While he didn't say it, the word was likely written all over Soul's face. The Death Scythe turned away then, jerking his head back towards the city proper.
