"Looking for a mission?" Genesis came up behind the young remnant.

"I'm surprised to see you here of all places, Kadaj. Did you happen to have a change of heart?" His lips curled in a little playful smirk which could either be mocking or just good-natured depending on how his mood was. Thankfully, the look in his bright blue eyes didn't seem inclined to negative interaction for the moment. If the remnant truly did want to make amends, then Genesis would gladly help him.

Not this traitor again. Genesis was worse than Sephiroth in every sense. At least Mother’s favorite still believed in her existence. Genesis was just a blasphemous disgrace to the whole family and the features on Kadaj’s face did not hide those disgusted thoughts.

“Genesis,” he replied with sharp sarcasm. “Dutifully fulfilling your mistress’s wishes by taking on another meaningless mission?” The remnant smirked and shook his head. “As a trained SOLDIER I figured you would have known better. But. . .” Kadaj made direct eye contact, “I guess we can’t all be heroes, can we?” A bitter chuckle. Malicious. Condescending.

“I’m here to find out my enemy’s weaknesses. What better way to ruin the Shibusen than from within?”

It's okay XD; I'm also delayed, too. redpeacock November 26 2011, 01:33:28 UTC
"I don't have any mind to what you think of my so-called mistress, Kadaj," Genesis frowned, his reasonably fair mood darkened as he regarded the remnant. "And what does being part of SOLDIER have to do with it? Not all of them are like you. Neither are all of them like me. Nor do they all aspire to become heroes."

Despite Genesis' distance from the lower ranks, he knew well enough that not all SOLDIERs joined of their own account. Some were stolen from their families, from orphanages-- hand-picked by scientists for the fitness to withstand the enhancement treatments.

"Well, do as you please, but if you try to lay a finger on this stronghold, I will be part of the force to stop you."

Genesis’ facial features betrayed him. With a frown like that, Kadaj knew he had struck a nerve--a tender one too. “None of them are like me and my brothers,” he said pointedly. “We’re not slaves to a corrupted corporation. We’re more than that. We’re better.” They were created to bring justice to the world; not to bully it into submission for some pathetic political feud.

Though the remnant should not complain. It was that corrupted corporation's desire for a perfect SOLDIER that was ultimately responsible for his creation. Or rather, Sephiroth’s creation. Kadaj dipped his head slightly, amused, unimpressed with the given threat.

“Come now, Genesis,” he coaxed smoothly, “isn’t it time you put your disillusioned fantasy aside and did what you were always supposed to do?”
