Description: For most, it's a time for cheer. For others, it's a time for religious devotion, romance, or introspection. For some recently-orphaned trolls, there's not a whole lot to celebrate.

Death City seemed like a different place. The streets weren't empty, but there was a significant absence of people. Not too surprising, she supposed, with most people joining in the celebration of this "Christmas". While she was feeling significantly better than she had previous to her trip, especially now that Rei was awake and in good health, she still wasn't quite in the mood for festivities. Not when she didn't understand just quite what it was that they were celebrating, nor when it reminded her a bit too much of her long gone lusus

The door, still broken, swung in a little as she knocked, and a moment later Karkat came to answer it. If he was surprised to see her, it didn't show.

"Hey."

He was sure he should have said more than that, but he wasn't sure where to start. He had heard she was back in Death City, but he'd been too wrapped up in his own problems to go check up on her. This Christmas thing was just one constant depressing reminder that they were all orphans now, and it was his fault.

Even with the guilt, it was sort of comforting to see Nepeta there. They were finally rebuilding their friendship from the awkwardness in November, and it was nice to have someone who understood the problem without him being forced to explain what a lusus was and why it was sad that they didn't have them anymore.

He stepped back, allowing entrance if she wanted to come in.
