Description: Rei is still in the hospital, unfortunately, but she's sent a text around to friends and practically family in order to give them the Christmas presents she could. Prose or action is fine!

Karkat had gotten the message, but he ignored it at first. By that point he'd managed to give back all of Gamzee's stolen swag and apologize to nearly everyone hurt that night... except for Rei, on both counts. The ring seemed to be a lost cause, and by the time she had woken up, he had been in no condition to leave his hive or talk to anybody. After two days of dead silence from his end, the timing made it look like he was only getting in touch with her now to get a present. Couldn't have that

Unfortunately for Karkat, she was very much awake.

The kitten and the majority of the presents have dawdled down by that point, and she seems, at first, engrossed in her list of people who've collected their presents already.

But after a few seconds her head raises and, seeing Karkat, her mouth curves into a gentle smile. "Karkat." She raises a hand towards him, gesturing for him to come closer. "I was worried you didn't get my message. I'm glad you came."

Well, damn.

"I've been busy, that's all." Yeah, that was suitably gruff. Karkat lurked in the doorway for another few moments, pretending to consider her offer, then came in and sat down by her bedside. She looked... terrible. Better than she had the day she woke up, but still pretty bad.

She drops her hand onto her lap and shakes her head. "I understand. A lot of things have been happening, haven't they."

Her gaze is drawn like a magnet to his injured eye, eyepatch covered or not, and her expression at once becomes concerned. She reaches out to him, to touch the side of his face to examine it closer; she can guess it happened while he was gone and while she was out, but...

"What happened...?"

[Enma wanted to say Merry Christmas in person -- that was what you did here, wasn't it? And anyway, he still had half of Rei's present in his possession, so it made perfect sense for him to drop in on Christmas day. He peeks in, hair and clothes coated in a thick layer of half-melted snow thanks to a tumble he took in the white stuff, and waves shyly]

Hi.

[She looks up and brightens, giving a little wave for him to come inside]

Hello. Merry Christmas! [She turns a moment to grab up the keychain he'd made her, and turns back around to show it to him] I keep it by my bed every night, so I know I won't lose it.

[And he grins a little when she pulls out the keychain -- Christmas success #1?!]

M-Merry Christmas..! Glad you like it.

Of course I like it; you made it for me. [Smile! IT WAS A SUCCESS.

She picks the kitten up now and holds it up] I got you a present too.

[Alright, so normally Justin doesn't have a reason to come home for Christmas. In fact, he considers his Christmas a failure if he doesn't bag either a Witch or at least fifteen Kishin Eggs. But, say, if he conveniently finds himself having to supposedly report in on Christmas Day, at a certain hour that just happens to coincide with opening times... despite him being on the other side of world...

...Well, it just made sense to go see Miss Rei. After all, hospitals are not all that festive. Unfortunately, that means people will no doubt he around, but that simply meant that his skills will be truly challenged.

Or not. So, there's a blonde-haired head visible through the window outside. Against the snow it would not be easy to spot Justin ordinarily, but a bright red Christmas hat has replaced his usual, thus once again utterly foiling his attempts at stealth.]

[She pretends not to notice him for a good 5 minutes, before getting exasperated and turning to give him a look out the window.

She grabs up her communicator to send him a text: Get in here before you get frostbite.]

[After spending Christmas Eve recovering and quietly making sure Alucard didn't try to walk on his hurt leg, Raidou is feeling a bit better. He's going to try to see as many of his acquaintances as he can today; if there's something these past few days have reminded him to do, it's to appreciate his friends while he has the chance.

So naturally, Rei is one of the first people he's off to visit. He stops by the door of her room and knocks.]

[small>She looks up at the knock and smiles]

Come in!

[And quickly takes stock of the presents she has, trying to figure out who might come waltzing in next]

[He steps in and smiles a bit as he makes his way to her bedside. It looks like she's doing better.]

Hello, Kurosawa-san. How are you feeling?

Oh, Raidou! Just who I wanted to see. [She cheerfully digs up two boxes and confidentially hands them out to him.

The one box contains some books on folklore and folk rituals. The other box has a new camera in it.]

I'm doing better; doctors say I still shouldn't be up and about yet, but... [She shakes her head] Anyway, here. Open it.

[Ram is so used to come and go from work to the hospital that he knows the name of most of the nurses and doctors now. He brought cupcakes for some of them as well, and once he was done talking to them he head to Rei's room, presents in his hands.]

Merry Christmas Rei...oh. ..and company. [He said, looking at the kitten.]

[The kitten mews and rolls onto its back, playing with a loose thread of the bedding]

Merry Christmas, Ram. [She smiles brightly] I got your present here!

[She hands the box to him, which contains this kit!]

[So adorable. Ram approaches her to give Rei a hug.]Ah, you didn't had to.

[She hugs him back, giving him a little squeeze before she releases him]

You're my friend--and my savior. I should be giving you more, really. [she smiles warmly] But I hope you like that too. YOu can grow some life of your own.
