The figure the tiny shinigami spotted was Gin- who like many others on this night, was doing last minute Christmas shopping. Mostly for himself, mind you, but he briefly entertained thoughts of buying gifts for others while he picked out a nice new scarf for himself. The crowds were soothing to him, they were easy to get lost in, and nobody here was trying to capture him.

Best vacation ever.

Gin had enough stuff for now, though, and he made his way along the edge of the street, walking on the side closer to the park. That was when he spotted Hitsugaya looking in his direction. Debating whether to walk closer or not, he stopped and stared back at him.

Then he waved.

Hitsugaya practically groaned when the idiot waved at him. He kind of wished he could have just blended in with the snow and not been seen by Gin at all. It wasn't surprising, of course, that he'd act cheerful and as if nothing had happened. Cheerful as if nothing was ever happening.

Glaring a bit at him, he crossed his arms over his chest expectantly, calling out, "Well?"

He could have meant it either as asking if Gin was just going to stand there or approach him or leave altogether.

Gin took that to be a hi! and in that moment made up his mind. Stepping into the deeper snow found off the main roads, he made his way toward the white-haired kid. It's a good thing he had seen him move, it would have been all to easy to walk right over Hitsugaya without seeing him.

"Taichou-san!" Reaching him, he stopped several feet short and crossed his arms. "This is yer type of weather, ain't it?"

Gazing coolly at him, he didn't respond for a moment. It was hard to believe the last time they'd seen each other, Hitsugaya had been a blade at Gin's throat. He was acting like they were old friends, not like the victim of an attack. Not that this surprised Hitsugaya.

But things were different now. They'd been different since Matsumoto had arrived and told him about Gin's future and his motives. The young captain stared at Gin a moment before giving a soft sigh and a slight shrug, "I'm not complaining about it, no."
