SORRAAAAAAA gingaprettyboy October 13 2011, 06:16:30 UTC
Takuto was equally behind on his Christmas shopping. There really were only a few people on his list, but he wasn't very good at coming up with gift ideas. Material things weren't exactly a forte of his, and the only thing he had ever cooked was curry, so baked goods were out of the question.

He ran his mind through his list of people he wanted to give gifts, his mind settling on one in particular several times. What did she want? She already had enough warm clothes to last her the season. Was jewelry too forward? Or was it just way out of his budget?

He was thinking so hard about it all that he wasn't exactly looking where he was going. And thus, it was only awkwardly, after a surprisingly gymnastic maneuver out of the way, that Takuto managed to not run into the similarly spiky-haired boy.

Sora had been so lost in his own thoughts, it was lucky the other boy managed to swing around him at the last minute otherwise they surely would have collided. The sudden close proximity and the way he looked somewhat like an untrained gymnast was enough to snap Sora out of his musings.

He looked slightly apologetic as he said, "You ok? Sorry, I should have moved, I was completely lost in thought." He inclined his head a little in apology, but returned to his usual smile soon after. Wow, that boys hair was almost as spiky as his was. He couldn't help but stare at it for a few moments, Sora wasn't one for subtlety.

Takuto considered the whole thing more his fault than the other boy's. If he hadn't been so focused on what the perfect present for his girlfriend was, this would have never happened. He was starting to blush in embarrassment, even more so when he realized the boy was staring at his hair.

"N-no, it's not your fault. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going." His shrug was so apologetic it was practically a wince. "I'm really behind on my Christmas shopping."

Sora gave a small shrug as if to say 'don't worry about it' when the other boy tried to indicate it was his fault. At the end of the day, it was not really what mattered, he supposed.

Besides, his next statement was potentially much more important. And an outstandingly prosperous coincidence too. "You are too?! Oh man, I was just standing here thinking about how behind on my shopping I am. I uh, haven't really bought anything yet," Sora admitted with a sheepish grin. "I'm actually a bit stuck for ideas."

Kairi had of course been aware that Christmas was quickly coming up, it was a hard holiday to miss, but the excitement of the last few days left her without much time to go shopping for presents. Or rather, it had been impossible. Not today, however! The malls were finally open once more, and she was ready to buy a few of the people she had already met here some gifts.

And her friends, of course. They were actually the ones she was the most conflicted on at the moment.

With that thought she excited to the clothing store she had been looking at and found herself staring at none other than the boy she was trying to find a gift for. So much for that.

"Sora!"

He had been so lost in his own thoughts, particularly those concerning what to get for his friends who were girls, that he didn't realise one of them was standing right by him until she called his name.

Sora looked up, always happy to see her. "Kairi! What are you doing here?" He greeted her with an enthusiastic smile. Although, as soon as he said it he realised this was probably a fairly obvious question. Unless she had a new job here he didn't know about, she was probably out doing the exact same thing as him; shopping.

"Probably the same thing you are!" She smiled at him, shaking her head slightly. "It's right before Christmas, of course I'm shopping." Sora had actually been one of the people she was shopping for, but she would worry about that later. Maybe right now she could use his help to pick out some gifts. "Are you having more luck than I am?"

He beamed in response to her proclamation that she was in fact, out shopping as he had guessed. He seemed to slump a little, however, at her question.

"No," he sighed, "Not much luck at all. I haven't even gotten a single present yet! I'm struggling trying to work out what to get people." He looked up towards her imploringly, silently asking for her advice. She had always been much better at this than he had. He had only discussed one potential idea so far and that had been with Kairi a few days earlier anyway; a puppy for Riku.

Well, unlike Sora, Chika had already gotten most, if not all of the gifts that she was going to be giving people. That said, she was still in the mall, just taking the time to look around and relax a bit and see if there was anything else she needed to get. Or maybe if there was something she wanted to splurge on herself for.

Not really celebrating Christmas all that much meant that her list had been pretty short to begin with, even if she did end up getting people gifts anyway though.

She blinked, before smiling as she saw Sora passing by. If she remembered right, he was Neku's partner, wasn't he? And he looked like he was a bit confused. "Hey there, you need help with anything?"

Sora had been gazing around helplessly at the various store fronts in the mall, completely at a loss as to where to start, when he heard the other girls greeting.

He looked up, and paused for a moment as he thought he perhaps recognized her, but he couldn't place her just yet so he mentally shrugged it off. He did, instead, break into a warm smile of appreciation; "Um, actually, maybe you can? I am a bit stuck as to what to get some friends of mine for Christmas..." His smile quickly changed into one of slight embarrassment as he trailed off, he must have sounded a bit silly, it was only a few days before Christmas after all; a normal person would have been on top of this by now.

Chika couldn't help but giggle at that. "I see. That is a problem, isn't it? How many gifts do you need to get?" She asked. It looked like he hadn't recognized her yet, but that didn't mean much, it wasn't like they had talked all that often, after all.

Sora frowned in concentration as he proceeded to take a few moments and visibly count on his fingers just how many he was planning on buying that day.

"Nine." He concluded finally, coming out of his internal thoughts with a smile. Before instantly eye rolling and hitting himself in the forehead in realisation. "Duh, I wrote myself a list," He said, reaching through his pockets to find it. Eventually he emerged victorious holding what appeared to be a thoroughly crumpled piece of paper covered with lint.

Snapped out of his tangled mess of confusion surrounding the topic of Christmas presents by the other mans near-collision, Sora looked up to apologise for being in the way. Rather than say sorry, once he regcognised the older man, Sora blurted out a quick surprised sounding, "Auron!"

A moment later his face cracked into a proper smile of greeting. He wasn't sure what he was here for (although he couldn't quite fathom it was Christmas shopping too, would Auron have even taken with such 'childish' holidays?), but Sora was always glad to see him, no matter the circumstances. "What are you doing here?"

Sora let out an understanding 'oooooh' as he nodded in acknowledgement. He pondered the answer for a moment, "What do you mean 'things'? What would you give people instead?"

One year for Christmas he gave his mother a card which said 'free hugs for a week', but he couldn't imagine Auron giving out a similar present.

Auron's purpose for being out today also matched up surprisingly well with his own, which seemed to Sora entirely fortuitous. He beamed, "That's funny, I came out today to do some present shopping too, but I'm also a bit lost on what to get people!"

Spike is still unused to wandering during the day. Even more so without his senses to back him up. It's as if he's deaf dumb and blind in a bright foreign world -- oh wait, that's exactly what he is. Though he usually would forgo his awful hipster glasses, he'd already exposed himself over the Network and besides, he couldn't see fuckall without them. And so it is in this way that Sora gets all 5'9 of a disoriented and pale no-longer-vampire.

"Sorry, kid." He doesn't look sorry, or even really make eye contact, attempting to shove past. He just had to leave his apartment today, didn't he.

Sora's eyes widened and his head snapped up as he was shoved to the side in another man's effort to get past him. He looked up to see who it was, but Sora couldn't place him from anywhere. Another person stuck in this world? Or a local, he could't be sure.

The other man's unapologetic tone was completely lost on Sora, who tended to think that rainbows shone from the backsides of every new person he met. "That's ok! My bad, I was completely lost in thought." He smiled apologetically.

"Yeah... best to watch that next time." Looking past Sora, he sighs. What was he going to do anyway? He hated Christmas and all the streets looked the same to the best of his knowledge. "Wouldn't do to get yourself lost in the clouds, now would it?"

Sora let out a laugh, "No, probably not." The fact that the other man was chastising him in much the same way as his best friend did most of the time, made Sora think he might not be a bad person to approach for help. Well, that and at this rate help from a passing pigeon would have been welcomed with open arms. He was seriously struggling with coming up with good ideas for presents. And, where exactly to buy them.

"Hey, you wouldn't be able to help me with something would you?" He asked with an imploring sort of smile.
