OPEN | December 20 - 26 | Any Time...

[ She was brought in on the 18th, rushed straight into intensive care to figure out what to do with the sword that was stuck through her midsection. Mostly she was unconscious -- hyped up on painkillers and anesthesia and who knows what else as they took her apart and stitched her back up from the inside out. Jade had needed blood transfusions, had needed an IV -- she'd be fine, so long as she would sit still and stop trying to run after everything like the last time she got stabbed.

It's not until the 20th that she's awake and mostly functional, ready to receive visitors. She realized that this was her first time in the clinic for a long period of time. Maybe it was just something about being stabbed that attracted all the crazy people to her. Maybe not.

Either way, she's now boasting some attractive medical staples in her abdomen and tends to wobble around pretty gingerly.

They say she can't go home until after Christmas, not after what happened to her last time.
This sucks. Being stabbed sucks. ]

[Rose had barely left the clinic since bringing Jade in, had only left to change out of her bloody clothes after making certain that she was stabilized. she's not really sure if she wants to be around when Jade is awake, because that entails feelings, but for the time she's unconscious she doesn't leave her bedside.

unfortunately on the 20th the decision is made for her. when Jade wakes she'll see Rose asleep in a chair nearby, head resting on the wall in an uncomfortable position that suggests she'd only meant to rest her eyes for a second and had the days of sleeplessness catch up to her. there's a bag at her feet and an unhappy expression on her face, even in sleep.]

[ Jade wakes up and realizes that she's not on the street any more. She's been sleeping for days -- there's a faint throb in her stomach area, and the hospital gown that she's dressed in does little to relieve her fear that she may be dying. Still, she's awake -- attached to an IV, but definitely awake and moving, albeit carefully. Jade turns her head to the side and sees Rose, wondering--

of course. Rose carried her to the clinic, she thinks. She was stabbed, and... ]

Rose...

[ Her voice is rough, but she's happy to see her best friend. Though maybe she should let her sleep... ]

[her eyelids flutter and open at her name - Rose has always been a light sleeper. she sits up from the wall, expression smoothing itself into something more serene]

You're awake. I was beginning to wonder if you were going to deign to return to this plane anytime soon.

[Kaoru and Yuuri somehow were able to get her in the clinic before she bled out anymore. Like a few of the others, she was rushed into the intensive care unit where she stayed for a day or so. It was all a blur for her as she went through blood transfusions, painkillers, stitches; so many things she could not recall too well. The only thing she could even distinctly remember was thinking of her mother through everything. As she laid on the ground bleeding out, Kaoru's crying as her and Yuuri helped her, the doctors saying various things..She thought about how she was once that person who watched their loved one on the hospital bed. Gripping her mom's hand as she cried over her mother. Tohru knew she was very lucky to be alive

December 20-21th | Mid-Afternoon

[Kaoru quietly knocked on the door, looking down at her friend with a weak smile, a wrapped box in her bandaged hands ]

..Tohru-chan? Are..are you awake yet?

[a pause]

She must be exhausted...[she pulled her chair closer to the bed, gently placing her hand on the girl's head]

Baka..

[Tohru stirs from her sleep, blinking her eyes a few times as she looks over to see Kaoru.]

ah--Kaoru-san..!

[She smiles so sweetly and happy to see the other girl again.]

[she sits straight up, looking at her with wide sapphire eyes. a pause, and then Kaoru feels the tears fill her eyes again for who knows how many times the past few hours, day or two--she wipes them with her sleeve as they fall, a watery smile on her face ]

Oh, Tohru-chan thank goodness..I didn't understand what the doctors were saying with the tubes and the weird machines but--to see you okay--oh thank goodness...

[not that he'll be conscious until probably around the evening of the 21st/morning of the 22nd.

but yeah, as it turns out, constant use of one's meister ability to fight a steady stream of kishin eggs really tires one out. that, plus the madness, plus a surprise attack with madness-spreading monsters...well, doesn't go all that well for a person. in this one's case, it resulted in a black clown tearing his partner's blindfold-form away from his face and then stabbing him through the side before he could even get back to seeing normally.

luckily sasuke managed to get them both back to the base before he could bleed out, and back through the mirror to DC for proper treatment. it'll be a bit before he's actually awake to interact with any visitors, though.]

[Tavros had heard fragments here and there about the Europe mission, enough for him to piece together that there were patients coming in from there, but not enough for anything else- he had too much on his mind already to think about that.

He was on his way out, not-so-sneakily sneaking out of his own room to visit some certain other patients and then go home. It was while he was looking for said patients, peeking into rooms as he passed, that he saw someone he hadn't seen in a while and hadn't expected to see like this.

He shuffled half a step inside, his hand on the doorframe, staring at him with wide eyes.]

Sara...?

[he hadn't had anyone but nurses stop by yet, so it's a surprise to suddenly hear his name. the king looks up to the door, blinking at the unexpected visitor and for a moment moving to sit up -- and giving up on that very quickly with a wince, seriously bad idea ow.]

Ah...Tavros, right? [his patron troll, he remembers that much from all those shenanigans.]

Yeah, uh...

[He crept further into the room, taking in Sara's state but not getting too close. He felt a little like he was intruding; he hadn't kept in touch with Sara, but he still remembered how nice he'd been. Had he gone on the mission and gotten hurt, or had Gamzee done this too...?]

[Tavros had been in the clinic since the night of the 18th. He'd since learned that Kurt and Jade weren't actually dead, but not for lack of trying on Gamzee's part. The events of that day had all blurred together in his mind, yet remained sharp and ever-present in his thoughts despite his most valiant efforts to not think about any of it. Gamzee's twisted grins, the reek of blood, the muffled despair he'd felt when he'd believed Gamzee had killed his friends and then the pain left by the knife cutting across his stomach

[Masaru had come and gone since he'd dragged the troll into the clinic. If it had been up to him he would have been in the room with his partner almost non-stop, but the doctors (especially the scruffy one) hadn't let him in while still tacky with rusty colored blood and half crazed with panic.

'A shower and a night's sleep' they'd said, then he could go in. At this point he'd just end up upsetting Tavros. In hindsight he would have agreed, but at the time all he could do was curse everyone he'd ever known with a doctor's license.

Finally he peeked in, eyes a little blood shot from a night spent pacing more then sleeping.]

[Tavros was busy with one of his daydreams, and didn't register Masaru's greeting. He probably appeared asleep, much more calm than usual, propped up on some pillows with his hands clasped lightly over the bandaging on his stomach.]

[Masaru fretted slightly, unsure if he should just leave and try again latter. But some paranoid and childish part of him was sure if he went home the clinic tyrants wouldn't let him come back.

So in the end he came in, plopping in the room's chair and willing to just... hang around and watch the tv until his partner woke up]

You...really scared me, ya know?

OPEN || Dec 20-23 || From late on the 20th to early 23rd...

[Technically, he shouldn't have been out on his missions in the first place, what with a concussion from getting hit in the head with a club.]

[Did he care? No. He went anyway, and got thoroughly banged up for his efforts. He is sincerely the worst patient ever, and even now they practically have to sit on him to keep him in place. Whether it's the simple fact that they're wearing white coats, or that he hates labs and clinics of all sorts, or simply that he's restless-- it doesn't matter.]

[At least he's resting for now. Although he may or may not be tied down, depending on what time of day it is.]
