At Watch Headquarters

[Since the Watch was short on clerks, Shuurei had volunteered to work the afternoon shift as well as her usual evening shift so the temporary clerks could go out on patrol while people were in Europe. So, she’s been at Watch headquarters since noon. She had her abacus out and was finishing up some bookkeeping while waiting for Ram to come in for his shift at midnight.]

[When Ram walked in and saw the girl he focused on her and his smile widened.] Greetings, Shuurei. Did I miss anything important?

[Shuurei moved a few more beads on the abacus, then picked up a pen and made a note in the ledger. She supposed that pens were more convenient than brushes since they didn’t need to be periodically dipped in ink but it was strange to write with this new implement and in this world’s language.]

[She looked up when Ram came in and smiled.] Hello, Ram. [She shook her head.] There hasn’t been much reported tonight so I’m just finishing the accounts for today.

[Hades was on one of his scarce errand tours when he happened upon Ram. Recognizing him as the disk that had gotten stuck in his hair before, the god calmly sinks into the shadows, waiting for the right time to address the approaching program.

In other words, he's being a creeper again.]
