Finding Tifa hadn't been too difficult; she was in the park already, checking on her flowers and Koujurou's fields. The fact that it was slowly getting colder made their job more difficult, and it wasn't the time to start growing new things. At least the climate wasn't too terrible for growing things.
The other girl's back was turned to her as she approached, but Aerith would have recognized her anywhere. She drew a little closer before she grinned brightly, calling out her name.
Tifa turned, eyebrows raising as she heard the familiar voice. And there she was, exactly as Tifa had remembered her. Her smile was still the same, infectious and warm, her eyes alight in that beautiful way. She closed the distance between them, bringing a hand up to her mouth, trying not to become too overwhelmed with emotion.
"Aerith... it's really you..." she murmured, hearing her voice crack and knowing that she was losing the battle. It suddenly felt far too long since they'd seen each other, and Tifa wondered vaguely if it was because they'd never been able to say goodbye.
Closing the distance was a simply thing, the reunion a bit easier for her than it had been with Zack or Cloud. Cloud hadn't entirely been happy to see her; well, no, that wasn't exactly it. Still, it had been a little strange, even though she liked him just as much all the same. With Zack, she'd been overly nervous, since it had been so long and she'd known so little.
With Tifa, she already knew everything would be alright. She could tell.
"Of course, it's me. Did you think I might be an imposter?" Aerith winked, trying to keep the mood light even though she was pretty sure that there would be tears soon.
At least they would be happy ones. The flowergirl could handle those.
Tifa couldn't help but let out a little laugh at Aerith's suggestion, and she dropped her head a little. "For a brief moment... yeah, I thought you might be."
The thought now seemed so silly and ridiculous to her that another laugh escaped her. In the next moment, she had pulled forward enough to sweep Aerith into a tight hug, all the thoughts she couldn't express verbally contained in it. It was too difficult to say how much she'd missed her, how much she'd hoped they could see each other again, but she knew she didn't really need to say it. More often than anyone else, Aerith knew without saying anything.
