Shinjiro's initial estimation was pretty on the nose, all told. Yosuke had gotten as far as onto his motorcycle, revved up down the street towards the address he'd been given. From that point, though, he seemed to...drift. It was nearing eleven o'clock at night when he finally stopped puttering down back alleys, weaving in and out, speeding occasionally in a way he was sure Kurt would disapprove, and set a course for the apartment Shinji had named.

And even then, it was eleven thirty before Yosuke got the nerve to get up off his bike and out of the cold. He just hoped Aragaki-san kept his word about not asking him questions.

He knocked twice, telling himself if he didn't get an answer, well, maybe that was for the best.

By the time Yosuke arrived Shinjiro had made himself rather comfy in the battered couch that had become his personal roost since he came to Death City. He hadn't let the drink go to waste, that was for sure, and had tipped back a swallow or two for himself. But he knew his own limits more then well enough, and there was nothing more then a dull warmth in his gut so far.

The knock surprised him, and it wasn't light enough to be either of the girls and not hard enough to be anyone from the Watch coming to ruin his attempt at a night off. So Hanamura then. Shinjiro opened the door, the tiny sake cup still pinched between his fingers.

"Thought you'd be asleep by now."

"Not really." Yosuke muttered sourly, off to a poor start as a gracious house guest. Normally he'd put more effort in. A lot more. But for now, the boy seemed too dead on his feet for even the smallest of faked smiles.

"Oh, um, were you sleeping?" He asked belatedly, after already pushing himself into the apartment. The look on his face hovered somewhere between worry, hope, and disappointment.

"I'm usually getting ready to head out for work around now. Day off." He tilted his chin over to the small shoe pile near the door before making his way back to his seat.

The apartment was recognizable as the basic large unit set up for partners, of course. But over time Shinjiro had taken to replacing the generic furniture piece by piece. Nothing matched in the classic sense, no livingroom sets with complimentary tables or rugs. But between Shinjiro's well hidden hedonistic tendencies for comfort and Kanaya's fine eye for color, the place had a feel of clean well lived in warmth. Dark rich colors and dim lighting leaning heavily on the natural (which this late was the moonlight peeking in, the windows just covered enough for privacy) and a few lamps. Mix in the barely there smell of copper from the kitchen cookware and it certainly didn't seem much like a crash space for a pair of unrelated teenagers.

"Sit." Shinjiro poured a second cup, placing it on the small table in front of the couch.
