Characters: SilverSouba, shotgun_allure, and criesformom Location: Casualty Communal Rating: PG? Time: December 7th Description: The three remnants FINALLY reunite.
Yazoo had been slinking around the back of the crowd, trying his best to remain unnoticed by the general throng but remaining close enough to pick up each speech from each of the residents. He didn't like the sound of 'soul perception' at all, and had been trying to figure out a way to both avoid notice and discover his new attributes when the sound of running footsteps filtered through the murmurs and questions of the people around him
( ... )
Yazoo spoke. Kadaj squeezed harder. He’d let go in just a second. It felt too good to be together again to let go so soon.
One more second.
One more.
Maybe another.
Okay, that was enough. Any longer and Kadaj figured his brother might pass out from lack of oxygen or suffer a broken rib. The young remnant cracked a grin and playfully shoved him away. “Don’t you EVER do that again! Don’t you ever leave!” It was too hard without you, even if I can still do everything myself. The words were harsh but his tone of voice wasn’t. He was just too relieved to see Yazoo back for anger to take its ugly hold on him for long
( ... )
His earlier sensation of disturbance only grew as Kadaj lingered too long in the embrace. This was simply not how they behaved around each other. This was a human thing, fallible and weak - he only understood the gesture at all from watching the kin of the Awoken children try to bring them back to their foolish little lives
( ... )
He walked ahead in silence. Leader and follower-brothers. Kadaj knew from Yazoo’s reaction that he hadn’t remembered anything that had transpired. He’d have to explain it all again. Annoying. It wasn’t fair that he kept getting the short stick! Aerith left and came back with her memories intact. Other people did too. So why was it when Yazoo left and came back they had to start from scratch again? The last planet reviled them and this one did too
