Chika smiled, walking over to the mall as she saw Takuto standing there already. She was wearing a rather simple dress, though she did have a jacket on since it was starting to get pretty cold out.

"Hey Takuto!" she said, waving over to him as she moved closer to the other teenager. He was a pretty nice guy, after all.

[OOC: I'm assuming they told each other their name's offscreen, since I just realized that they well... didn't mention it in their thread. Oddly enough, they also both work as clerks at Triple A. ^^]

Chika giggled, thinking about what she wanted to get. That Bacon Cheeseburger that was mentioned sure was sounding pretty tasty...

"Well, if you want, I can help you learn how to cook sometime so you know how to make more things."

"Really?!" He was excited about this, and not only because he had only ever made top ramen and, with some help, curry. "I'd love that!" He flashed a dazzling smile at Chika before looking back at the menu and pondering his choices. A burger or a sandwich?

"Yeah!" Chika said, blushing a bit as he flashed her that dazzling smile. But no, this was not the time to be reminded about other boys. Especially other boys who weren't here.

Anyway, she was definitely getting a burger. Burger sounded really good.

Takuto kept his eyes on his menu after catching sight of her blush. As far as he was concerned, blushes from cute girls were especially contagious.

"What are you going to order?" he asked, trying to avoid lapsing into an awkward silence.

Yeah, awkward silence definitely wouldn't have been good. "I'm getting a burger," Chika said, answering. "Probably with fries on the side... oh wait, yeah, definitely with that. It comes with the burger."

There was something comforting about a girl that wanted to eat a burger and fries. He tried not to make comparisons, though. He grinned at her and nodded. "I think I'll have the BLT," he said cheerfully, looking around, "whenever the server comes back to take our orders, that is." He laughed lightly.

Chika couldn't help but grin a little bit. Sure, most girl's might've been worried that they'd gain too much wait with the burger and fries, but she was used to burning up energy helping Ikuto-kun chase after his sister all the time.

And now that she was here and training, well, she was exercising almost all the time. "Yeah. I don't think it'd be all that long though. Have you ever had one of those before?"

Takuto shrugged and nodded. "Sometimes they'd have sandwiches at my old school. I think I've had one once or twice before."

And true to Chika's words, a server appeared in the next moment, took their orders, and then returned to the kitchen.

"You're... from Japan, right?" he asked.

"That's good. I've never heard of it though, so I was wondering," Chika said.

She nodded at his question. "Yeah. I am. What about you?"

He bobbed his head. "Me, too. I grew up on Shikoku, but moved to one of the nearby islands last year. You've probably never heard of Southern Cross, huh?" He shrugged and laughed a little, remembering how he had called it a tiny desert island when he had first moved there. "What area are you from?"

"No, I've never heard of that place," Chika said. "I guess it's not really that well known of an island, otherwise I probably would've heard of it. I'm from Yokohoma."

She smiled, looking over at him. "So, how'd you like both of those places?"

He shrugged lightly. "They're both pretty neat. I guess, if anything, I was surprised at how quickly Southern Cross began to feel like home." He had lived for 15 years on Shikoku with his grandfather, but Southern Cross had felt much more like home after even only a few days. He'd think it strange if not for Tauburn and the island's history.

He shook his head to clear it. "I've never been to any of the big cities. Do you like it there?"

Chika nodded. "I see. I'm glad that you liked both places. As for Yokohoma, yeah, I really liked it there. There was always lots of stuff to do. Of course, I've never lived anywhere else besides Death City and there, so I really don't have anything to compare it to."

"Yeah, I suppose." He paused for a moment and then asked, "Do you live in the Casualty Community? Or one of the other places?"

Chika blinked, blushing a bit as Takuto asked where she lived. Wasn't that a bit forward? Then again, maybe she was just thinking about it too much. It was probably an innocent question, after all. "Yeah, I do. Apartment 5-I. What about you?"
