[ Well, it's analogous to trying to build a home in the middle of a storm, but not as pointless because...it's stupid to stay this way, isn't it? It's stupid and dishonest to stay as friends when there's clearly something more going on between them. Of course, it's probably more comfortable to live in the illusion, but it's tiring and he thought that it's time to face the truth. He thinks that she's ready to do so, too, as proven by the kiss. Why would she do that if she would rather preserve their relationship at its current state ( ... )

[She stares a little startled at his cut off words, frowning inwardly at herself because honestly it didn't matter much when he came home so long as he did. Gathering her senses, Alice settles with lowering her eyes to the floor and nodding slowly.] Well, yeah, I'm glad you came back so quickly... [Even though she can't help but wonder if maybe he left the clinic before they actually said it was okay or not, and she doesn't want him to get in trouble just because she told him to come back soon.]

It just surprised me. [Finally admitting as much, then she waits to meet his gaze again until he's inside with the door shut. That quiet apology doesn't go unheard, but Alice just shakes her head a little with a small smile. Even if he had woken her up, she wouldn't have minded so long as it meant he was back safe ( ... )

Instead, he insisted that he need to get home as soon as possible, and yes, he wouldn't stop by anywhere, nor does he'd do anything else aside from existing, breathing and lying around today. It takes quite a lot of convincing and a hell lot of stubbornness, but in the end, it's worth it because they finally caved to his demand and released him. ]

I thought so. [ There's a smile hidden somewhere inside those words. It's definitely worth all the effort and trouble, and if they still wouldn't release him, he'd gladly run away. Whatever trouble it would bring is going to worth it, too. Anything to make Alice happy. As long as it's still within reason, that is. ] And yeah, I know. I'm sorry for surprising you, too.
