It had all happened so quickly, and before he knew it, Yuna had been injured in Arizona, and he'd once again been unable to protect someone he cared about. Was it always going to be the same regardless of the training he had? He didn't want to believe that all of Mifune's hard work went to waste, but he hadn't been able to do anything once again to protect others
( ... )
And in that instant a girl's hand reached out, also slightly bandaged, to pick up that last bit, followed by a pair of wide blue eyes. Her expression was gently concerned, but she was smiling, as she offered it to him. "Here." She said kindly, on her knees, wearing what looked to be kendo-clothes. Her pretty face had a few bandages of their own on it, along as some along her shoulders and neck, even to some of her arms.
[He finds his thoughts easier to push aside when faced with the prospect of being in the company of another. Yuuri doesn't want to worry people, after all.]
Aaah yeah I'm fine.
[So here he is wiping at his eyes before offering her a bright smile that didn't quite reach his eyes yet. Taking the roll of bandages, he can't help but notice the bandages she's wearing.]
Are you alright though? I can go and find Dr. Watson if you need him?
"Really? You shouldn't push yourself, if you're not okay, it's okay to say so." Kaoru said smartly, it's what she did after all. More like I just cried and was a burden.. She thought guiltily, before she blinked at him, staring at her own injuries.
"Oh, I'm fine. I got these before coming to Shibusen. I just was getting a check-up since Kenshin wanted me to." She flushed some.

[Once her wounds had been dressed and the doctors had left her alone, Aqua took the chance to go look for her friends. She knew that was she was supposed to be resting, but it wasn't like she was very badly injured. A large part of her arm was bandaged, true, but it looked worse than it actually was.
And she couldn't help but want to make sure, want to see with her own eyes that the people she knew were fine...and it wasn't like she wasn't going to be mindful of her injuries as she searched.]

[Chika groaned, laying down in her hospital bed as she stared up at the ceiling. God, that witch had been pretty powerful, she had bloody holes all over her body and was being stuck here for a couple of days at the least! This really sucked. Her body had lots of bandages wrapped around it, but she was lucky enough to not have any broken limbs.
She blinked, seeing a blue haired girl walking past her. But she seemed to be in some kind of hurry. Still, maybe she could help a bit.]

[Mello was a terrible patient, and he didn't give a damn. Served them right for not letting him leave. As soon as the wound in his side was bandaged, he started haranguing the staff to let him out, but no matter how many times he insisted he'd had worse (and he really had, anyone could see it by looking at him), they wouldn't discharge him.
After he pulled his IV out and was threatened with sedation if he didn't get back in bed, now, please, he became resigned, though ungracefully, to waiting out the fucking ridiculous few days they said it would take him to recover.
Painkillers or not, he couldn't do more than doze, and he was drifting in and out of sleep, wondering if Death By Pastry would serve someone in a hospital gown, wheeling an IV stand along.]
[It's finally the next day, a blessing after a wearisome mission in the middle of a sandy, madness-infested desert. Watson is looking over the clipboards on the beds when he finally comes upon Mello's bed, would be shocked at the damage on the boy's face if he hadn't seen it before.]
My staff tells me that you've been railing on them about being let out.
I don't need to be wasting everyone's time, including mine, and taking up a bed! I'm perfectly fucking fine.
[Granted, he can't move without wincing, but resting is as alien to Mello as patience. If he's going to submit himself to relaxation, it should at least serve some other purpose, too. Parking his ass in the clinic doesn't qualify.]
[Watson would be inclined to let him out and let him recuperate in the confines of his own home, but the reason why so many of them are forced to stay in the clinic is because they don't know how to stay down when outside, in the first place. No, he would rather not take that chance.]
That gash on your side is not what we would call perfectly fine, sir. But I would request that you do not harangue the staff here, particularly the young women. They are only volunteers, and do not have the authority to discharge patients.

[Sendo is pretty worse for wear. He should probably stick around the clinic for at least another day but..yeah. He's not doing that. Once all of his injuries had been properly dressed, he was ready to get out of there and head back home. Maybe make a pit stop by the gym. He's never been one to let injuries interfere with his training. He's always been able to work through any pain that he is feeling.
So after the doctor has left him, he is already preparing to get up and search gather his things to leave.]
After hearing they were back, she came to look for Sendo, to check on him. Obviously she would never admit it to be care - or at least she wouldn’t say it out loud that easily - but she WAS worried since he is sorta… the only friend she has?
The girl comes to the door and opens it - privacy? What is that? - and blinks when she notices that he was getting ready to leave]
[Privacy was clearly something he didn't have right now. It was a good thing he was decent at the moment or this could have ended up pretty awkward. He had no idea why she was giving him that tone right now.]
What do you mean what am I doing? I'm about to go home. There ain't no need for me to be here any longer than I've already been.
[Hands over her hips, Saya quickly approaches Sendo and points a finger at him] Going home, with those wounds, to do what?! Are you an idiot? Staying at the clinic is the best you can do right now, at least for one day or two!

[Selendis, predictably, is miserable in the clinic. The entire place is too small to begin with, and she has to sit on one of the beds like it's a chair in order to even use it. It's more comfortable than kneeling or standing, though, so she'll gladly stay put until everything stops hurting. Selendis has every intention of leaving once all the holes the Witch put in her stop bleeding.
There are bandages wrapped all the way around her midriff, upper arms and thighs - anywhere that wasn't covered by her armor. That same armor is sitting in Karkat's apartment right now, since it's a bit impractical to wear in the clinic. She looks smaller without it, but not by much considering she's cramped up indoors.
If she's not fastidiously checking her own blue blood soaked bandages, then she's attempting to meditate. Either way, she's doing her best to not look angry about it.]
[Watson has been busy as he usually is after any sort of mission or trouble, and things are a little more difficult because of the disarray everywhere. Unfortunately, he hadn't been able to give Selendis much attention all of yesterday beyond a passing hello, but the doctor is quite determined to make up for it now.]
My dear Madame. [standing next to her knee, looking up at her bandages.] My dear Madame, I do apologize profusely for allowing you to be held here for such a long time.
it's like they never left...justiceisdueJuly 10 2011, 20:50:59 UTC
[Selendis looks down at him when he approaches, letting her hand fall away from the bandages on her arm. She's fairly certain the bleeding has stopped there, but she doesn't want to mess with it if there are no fresh bandages around.]
You have nothing to apologize for, John Watson. It will not be much more time before I am healed enough to leave.
lmfao old friends, and such?stalwartcaneJuly 10 2011, 23:19:57 UTC
Is that so? [genuinely concerned peering up at her] I shall change to my weapon form immediately, and you can perhaps hasten the process more. This place must be uncomfortable for you.
