Characters: Rei and Maka Location: Bookstore, around town Rating: PG probably? Time: aahh bluh Description: Rei takes Maka book shopping; Maka requires answers about Soul
Maka was literally sprinting down the street, knowing full well that she was a little late. It had been her turn to clean the dishes today, and she had procrastinated too long by trying to finish up the novel she was reading. It didn't make sense to get new ones without finishing her current one, right?
Well, then she had left late, and now she was hurrying to try and makeup lost time. She skidded to a stop near the door to the store, letting out a few quick breaths before she grinned.
"Hi, Rei!" Oh man, she hated being late. "Sorry, you weren't waiting long, were you?"
Rei moves away from the window, hearing Maka approach before she saw her, and turns a smile onto the girl. "Oh, no! Not long at all. I've only been here a few minutes, myself."
She pulls the door open and gestures for Maka to step in ahead of her. "How have you been?"
Maka practically skipped into the store. In truth, she'd been looking forward to this a lot. Book shopping is pretty much her favorite thing to do, besides go on missions, and she didn't hang out with girls other than Tsubaki too often. Plus, hopefully, Rei could help her with her...problem.
"Good. Came back from one mission just to get thrown into the one to Arizona. So, pretty busy." Maka gave her a bright smile. "How are you?"
Rei follows in after her, letting the door swing shut behind them. She breaths in deep, taking in the smell of the books and feels almost instantly relaxed.
"Ah, you're going on the mission to Arizona too? Will there be anyone left in the city after you all leave?" It's said teasingly, and she shakes her head, amused.
As the question turns to her, Rei gives a small hum and shrugs. "Good. Training with Nepeta mostly, and doing a few missions. I've been thinking of quitting work at the Cafe, and opening up a gallery instead. I think it's something that might be interesting for the city." She glances to Maka, as if to get her opinion on it. After all, she'd lived here her whole life.
