[This really was the last thing that Shaun wanted to do right now, but he knew that it had to be done. They had agreed to this once they became partners. Honestly, this was the most awkward situation he had been put into for a long while.

The Brit sighed heavily, his cheek still red from the scratches D left for him. Obviously he wasn't going to budge so D needed to be the one to coax him out of his shell.]

[D pressed his lips together into a tight line, every now and then glancing up at Shaun when he was sure the man wasn't looking. As much as he wished they could avoid it forever, there was no way they'd be able to resonate without clear air and understanding between them.

He pressed his lips together and brought the tea into the living area. Silently, he set the tray on the coffee table and took a seat next to his Weapon. His voice was soft when he spoke.]

Shaun... can we just talk about it?

Oh, talk about what? How you nearly murdered me with your claws?

[Oh, no, he didn't sound bitter at all. Really. He just loved the fact that he was physically lashed out at, that D had hid all those feelings from him and talked about him behind his back. Sure, he knew that D was fine in doing so, but it still made him mad. And he really didn't want to admit to D that he was actually wrong. For once.]

[D looks down at his hands which are folded together tightly into his lap. If it's what it takes to get Shaun to talk, then he will swallow his pride and apologize. After a moment of consideration, D decides that's probably the best course of action. Shaun is rather upset about it, and there's probably no other way to get the man to move past it. When he speaks, D's tone is soft and apologetic; most importantly, he sounds sincere. He imagines it's probably the last thing Shaun expects out of him. There is honor in helping Shaun save face, so there's no harm in it.]

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gone behind your back or lashed out like that. I hope you can forgive me.

[He doesn't promise it won't happen again, but perhaps this will help mend things.]
