It was Miku at the door-- it had to be, because no one else Rei knew really bothered to knock anymore. It should probably have worried her, but she didn't really believe there was anyone in Death City who would bother to come into her home if they didn't know her; she wasn't, after all, anyone of real importance.
Either way she sits up from where she's been cleaning the floor, recalling that oh yeah, Miku was coming over right? She pushes her damp hair away from her face and pushes herself up to answer the door.
"Miku." She smiles warmly, with a lot more ease than she had back home, and gestures for her to come in. "You didn't have to make riceballs!" But it was only a cursory objection and they both knew it; Rei couldn't cook much to save her life, and she loved Miku's cooking anyhow. It was always welcomed.
Miku smiles back, trying to appear more upbeat than she has lately. The amount of sleep she'd gotten helped her; she could barely keep her eyes open when she first got here.
"I did anyway," she chimes, stepping into Rei's apartment and looking around. It looked much like the room she had- that was no surprise. And she was in the middle of cleaning- that was a surprise. "I thought you might be hungry."
H GOD I'M SO SORRY MY REI MUSE WANDERED OFF AFTER A BUTTERFLY OR SOMETHING IDEK ;A;cursed_tattooMay 12 2011, 16:37:03 UTC
"Oh--" Her stomach rumbles a little and she looks down at herself, a little sheepish as she closed the door behind them with a father final sounded click.
She takes the plate from her, feeling anxious and excited as she sets it on the kitchen counter.
"It's been hard, trying to do stuff on my own. I still can't cook--but I've managed to learn how to make popcorn and sandwiches, and I can heat ramen." Rei chuckles lightly, turning to face her old friend. "I try to pick up, every once in a while, but I don't spend a whole lot of time in the apartment anyhow."
But the apartment looks sort of like someone must have been using it, someone other than Rei if she hasn't been in it much.
A small cat sniffs around Miku's ankles, rubbing against her for pets. "Oh, i have a cat now-- his name is Cat. Justin named him. I have a dog too, somewhere-- his name is Enma."
