Rather than responding to Dante, Date simply made his way to the kitchen, grabbed a towel and a container of water (to rinse the towl in) and then went back to where his partner and the mess was.

Once he was there the warlord got right to work, wiping the vomit with the towel (to great personal distaste, of course) and then making very sure that the floor would be spotless as he cleaned. It would be in bad form to have anything there still, especially considering that this was Vergil's place.

"You look like a girl." Dante drawled out as he watched Date clean. Obviously, he wasn't in full control of his faculties. He was clearly drunk.

To that Date scowled - very much not amused with that statement - but decided to say nothing more and kept on concentrating on cleaning up the floor. It wasn't worth it wasting his patience and energy on somebody who clearly wasn't thinking straight. It was hard enough to put up with Dante at times when he was sober, and now it was just even more difficult considering everything and the events that happened earlier.

For now, it was just easier to ignore him and let his own annoyance blow off before he could let himself talk to Dante again lest anything happened due to his own temper.

Except Dante seemed to have absolutely no intention of letting himself be ignored. He rolled over onto his back.

"I feel useless. I don't get to do anything anymore or it's not allowed." Then as if he hadn't spoke, he turned his head over to Date. "Why is the rum beer gone?" Probably because you drank it all Dante. There's more in the living room though.

The warlord concentrated more on cleaning up the vomit more than listening to Dante rambling on, but he did listen to what the other was saying. No immediate response though - Date needed to rinse the towel again and change the water; all the stuff got it dirty pretty quickly.

It was only when he was back with a new container of water and was cleaning up the floor again did he finally respond. "You do have things to do, you just never do them." He was, of course, referring to the work that Dante should be doing instead of slacking off and running around everywhere. Date had never expected Dante to be around all the time, but he did expect the other to at least deliver some effort at the least.

"I don't wanna do that. I want to do the cool stuff that you get to do. Turning into my sword sucks." He slowly pulled himself up and reached for the other cup, despite the fact that he had brought it for Date, and started drinking it.

"Did you know he stabbed me with it once? Right here." He put the cup down to point in the middle of his chest. Dante had no scars at all, strangely enough. No points for guessing who he was.

Privately Date had to agree that being a Weapon would suck, but he wasn't about to say anything like that to Dante. Though really, after spending so much time with other Weapons like Tsubaki and Nataku and several other people (Koujurou included), Date wasn't that all inclined to believe what he once thought about Weapons. These days, he could understand that a Weapon was just as important as a Meister was.

"You see a lot of other people being Weapons, and you don't hear them complaining." Wipe wipe wipe, rinse, and wipe again. The samurai opted not to respond to the next comment, though his eye did flicker to where Dante had pointed. He knew vaguely what Vergil did back in their own world, but he had no idea that Dante would be involved to that extent. Perhaps had it been any other people, one would have thought that the act of killing one's own brother would be horrible.

For Date however, he only knew all too well about the necessary acts of sacrifice.

Once he had emptied that cup he dropped it again and edged himself slowly towards the sink.

"They either complain in private or they're used to working with others." He had always done things by himself, and being thrown into this place where he was forced to cooperate and team up with others was jarring to say the least.

He'd already forgotten that he mentioned the stabbing incident. Too distracted by the latest thing to catch his attention.

The samurai couldn't help but make an unimpressed grunt. More and more now, Date could only list out even more points on why he shouldn't be working with Dante. Seriously, here he was trying to make an effort and what did Dante do? All he did was to spit all that effort back in his face.

"If they can do it, then so can you." That was all he was going to say about the matter. Date himself knew how annoying it would be working with people, but even he knew better than to go at this alone. Dante really needed a serious wake-up call one day for that, or else Date wasn't sure how he was going to continue surviving in this world. All of them were humans here, regardless of the fact of whatever the hell they were back in their own world - and like every human they could all get hurt, they could all bleed, they could all die.

If Dante wasn't going to realize that, then he was just putting himself on a one way road to utter suicide.

Once he reached the sink he turned the tap on, but made no other movement to do anything. Choosing to just stare at the running water for the moment.

His next words were completely devoid of his usual crass or whining. "It's..." Hard, was the word he wanted, but couldn't bring himself to say. "...complicated."

Dante then proceeded to retrieve a glass from the cupboard, filled it up and then dumped it over his head to try and snap himself out of it. It didn't do much, now he was awake and drunk.

It was a long way to fall from being practically invincible to being just like everyone else.

Another grunt. Of course working with people was hard, it was always going to be hard - that was why he and his army had always went solo, fought alone and stood their own battles without any other forces with them. Working with others always made more things complicated, made betrayal and backstabbing all the more possible. That was why he always rolled alone, went with his own people and fought his own battles.

But things here were different in Death City, in this world, and Date understood that now. As much as it was going to be hard, he had to work with people, had to understand people and had to tolerate them as a person, and not as his position as the head of Oshu. With Dante that was what he was trying his best on, but with things like this it was just... difficult. Especially when Dante just did nothing but one dumb thing after another.

Choosing not to speak up now, Date concentrated on wiping up the last of the vomit off from the floor. The sooner he got this done, the better.

Dante made his way back to where Date was and crouched down to watch him clean. Back and forth, back and forth. He hadn't bothered wiping any of the water and he just let it drip down.

More than used to Dante's usual stupid and annoying antics, the samurai merely made another wordless grunt and kept his concentration on wiping up the floor. Just a bit more...

He watched silently for a moment longer before grabbing one of the cloths that Date had brought and started cleaning up as well. Not that his help was needed when it was pretty much done.

By the time Dante did that, Date was just about done with cleaning up and after he put the towel back into the container, looked up at the other with a somewhat unimpressed expression.

"...I'm already done, so there's no need to help anymore."
