It was around midnight when things began to get a little odd. He couldn't figure out what it was, but when he checked his watch to see midnight on the dot, Souji felt like something just. Snap in him.
For a second he felt sick. And the next second, he didn't know anything.]

The sugar also served to keep him awake this late. He was just about to make a sarcastic comment on the movie when he heard Souji shift a little in his seat beside him. Kurt crinkled up a candy wrapper and looked over... his expression seemed to change from one of pain or nausea or something to... something oddly blank. Kurt's eyebrows furrowed, and he extended an arm, concerned. ] Souji? Are you okay?

Besides, sitting on a couch made it easy to cram some forced distance between his friends. Not that they probably needed it at this point, but sitting between them felt like the right move, anyway. He was busy chewing on a particularly tough chunk of caramel candy when Kurt's arm reached across his chest. He followed it, face mimicking Kurt's (though perhaps with a bit more alarm than concern).]
Dude? [It came out thick and smacking of candy; damn caramel practically had his jaw wired shut. He chewed harder, in double time, working to swallow and be prepared to answer back when Souji ( ... )

He shoved at them, shoving Kurt's arm away and pushing Yosuke into him, as hard as he could from where he was sitting. Getting up from the couch, he backed up until he hit the wall, eyes looking around the room before settling on the two of them again.
That was when the vector appeared.]

And people, if they got in his way.]

With a small sigh, she flopped onto a nearby bench. Force of habit had led her outside her work place - the Maid cafe - and really, it was as good a place as any to take a little break and have some quiet time.
Leaning back, she crossed her ankles and stretched out with a contented sigh - one hand reaching up to tug at the silly cat headband she was still wearing. She smiled. For her first major holiday in this city... it had been rather fun, even without the trick or treating.]

[The message was clearly hastily written, and appears to be cut off at the end. Well, that's cryptic.]

Snapping the communicator shut, Minako frowned. If something was wrong with Souji, and Yosuke had said that he was dangerous, she'd probably need some way to defend herself. At the same time though, she didn't want to do something to hurt him... but all that was sort of moot point really when she didn't have anything to attack or defend with in the first place ( ... )

Next district, and the vector moved like a third arm, going anywhere he wanted it to go.]

And when he saw someone with yellow eyes, it set off another trigger in his head. Yellow eyes could only mean one thing. He ran towards the figure with yellow eyes, vector rising up and then slashing down.]

And run into people you would normally never attack.]

Souji. What are you doing here?

There were people he ran past, and there were people who he stopped for, if only briefly. There were so many people going crazy just like him, and it felt great.]

Yuna had gotten her section of the area mostly cleared out by the middle of the second hour after the attack. The back of her mind buzzed, itching from the effects of the madness wavelength that had coursed through the city earlier, but the summoner had remained mostly unaffected.
She could hear footsteps of someone approaching, but she didn't realize how close they actually were until they were nearly upon her.]
Huh?

He didn't know when he started laughing, and he didn't care, vector waving dangerously above him.]

What she should have done was summon Yuuri before the fight had even begun, but instead she had hoped that he was with friends in a safe place. Yuna hadn't wanted to pull him into such an ugly fight, and she would gladly pay the price for that. She was foolish to think that she would have been able to avoid a fight.]
Stay back! [These guests with the vectors seemed to be possessed or something; she refused to believe that they had been betrayed by so many.]
