But this had to be done. At the very least, Mifune seemed capable for a human. She would trust in Tassadar's judgment.
Selendis trailed behind her former mentor, keeping a sharp eye out. The scent of the Kishin was still new and unfamiliar to her, but she was learning it quickly. The more of them she hunted, the faster she could track them down.
"I am, Tassadar," she said. She hesitated for a moment, then added: "I would like to attempt this first, if you would allow me."

His ward was a witch; Mifune was used to stranger.
The samurai had brought his usual artillery of a dozen swords, having left the rest behind. These two were both meisters, but Mifune had vague hopes that they'd be able to take care of the kishin egg on their own. It was fine with him to step in, but he wanted to see strength today.

'Very well,' he murmured with a nod moments before allowing for her to take the lead. While the kishin egg would pose a threat, Tassadar held no wish to destroy it just yet. No, it was needed in order to gain better control over their ability.
Waiting for Selendis to move on ahead of him, the templar waited for only a short moment before following along. While his attention may have been on the danger ahead, it did nothing to stop him from glancing over to regard Mifune. 'You are aware not to interfere unless there is a life at stake?'

The question was an easy one to answer. "Mm," it was, and it said, more or less, that Mifune was in agreement, that he understood, and that he had every intention of fulfilling the role of a silent guardian who knew not to interfere. From then on, Mifune only shifted the sheath on his back and prepared to follow them from a short distance behind.
